We provide vital support during life's most challenging moments, helping individuals heal, grow, and thrive.</p> <p>We're Hiring!</p> <p>We are seeking a Family Support Specialist to join our team. This full-time position works in our Early Head Start program and is responsible for establishing a trusting relationship with overburdened families by delivering services that are culturally competent, strength-based, family-centered, and family-directed.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Initiate and maintain regular contact with assigned families, primarily in their home. </li><li>Manage an active caseload of families. Complete periodic child development screenings and assessments and utilize results for individualized child planning. </li><li>Provide assistance to families to increase competency in the areas of positive parent-child interaction, home environment, safety, nutrition, child growth and development, and child health care. </li><li>Develop and maintain necessary relationships in the community to execute responsibilities to assigned families and promote goal and objectives. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Required: Associate's degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience. </li><li>Preferred: Bachelor's degree in human services or related field, or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>Experience:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Required:</p> </li><li> <p>0-2 years' experience in the field of early childhood education, maternal-child health, family life education, home visitation, social work, counseling or related human service field.</p> </li><li> <p>Preferred:</p> </li><li> <p>2+ years home visitation experience</p> </li><li> <p>Bilingual (Spanish/English)</p> </li></ul> <p>Skills, Competencies, and other Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Wisconsin Driver's License, with reliable personal vehicle for transporting persons served, as needed. Maintain required auto insurance and acceptable driving record requirements. </li><li>Must complete First Aid and CPR training within 3 months of employment. </li><li>Ability to assimilate and conceptualize individual client desires and needs into detailed written case plans. These duties require advanced interpersonal skills and knowledge of programs and community resources. </li><li>Successfully work with prenatal, infants and young children, and their parents or primary caretakers. </li><li>Ability to work with a diverse population in ways that are culturally competent, non-judgmental, supportive, and empowering. </li><li>Ability to manage a flexible schedule to meet client needs, which may include evenings. </li></ul> <p>Why Join Us?</p> <p>Family Services offers a supportive and collaborative work environment where you can make a meaningful impact every day and help advance our mission to Protect, Heal, and Care.
