Our broad approach delivers key results for our customers by achieving cloud driven modernization and workplace and operational transformation to own the business in a secure environment.</p> <ul> <li>Please note, this role is not able to offer visa transfer or sponsorship now or in the future* </li></ul> <p>Job Title: AWS architect</p> <p>Location: Waukegan, IL</p> <p>Mandatory skills: AWS, Agentic AI, Devops</p> <p>Roles/Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Architect end-to-end AWS solutions using EC2, VPC, S3, IAM, RDS, Lambda, EKS, CloudWatch, Glue, EMR, and related services. </li><li>Design hybrid cloud architectures integrating on prem and AWS. </li><li>Define cloud modernization and data engineering patterns (Lakehouse, ETL pipelines). </li><li>Implement IaC, CI/CD, and automation using Terraform, CloudFormation, and AWS Code Suite. </li><li>Ensure security, compliance, identity governance, monitoring, DR, and FinOps best practices. </li><li>Lead technical discussions, mentor teams, and guide cloud standards adoption. </li><li>Required Skills </li><li>Strong expertise across core AWS services (compute, storage, networking, security, analytics). </li><li>Hands on knowledge of Kubernetes/EKS, containers, and DevOps automation. </li><li>Proficiency in scripting (Python / Shell). </li><li>Strong understanding of cloud networking (VPC, routing, VPN, Direct Connect). </li><li>Experience with observability, performance tuning, and incident/problem management. </li></ul> <p>Salary and Other Compensation:</p> <p>Applications will be accepted until 4/24/2026</p> <p>The annual salary for this position is between $115,000- $130,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.</p> <p>This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.</p> <p>Benefits: Cognizant offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Medical/Dental/Vision/Life Insurance </li><li>Paid holidays plus Paid Time Off </li><li>401(k) plan and contributions </li><li>Long-term/Short-term Disability </li><li>Paid Parental Leave </li><li>Employee Stock Purchase Plan </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer: The salary, other compensation, and benefits information is accurate as of the date of this posting.
