<p>Missouri Baptist University in St. Louis has an opening for a full-time Assistant Professor of Education. This person will also serve in the role of Director of the Field Experience. The faculty member is directly responsible and accountable for ensuring the program's educational goals and objectives. These responsibilities require leadership in academic and workforce areas, including meeting student retention goals, participating in educational planning, evaluating student performance, motivating and advising students, and generating program reports as needed. As the Director of Field Experience, this person is responsible for approving student placements and site supervisors in field sites. This role impacts student learning, student experience, program quality, and professional partnerships.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities</p> <p>Teach courses as assigned, determined by needs and/or expertise.</p> <p>Assist in curriculum development and instructional advancement in the field of education.</p> <p>Assess the instructional needs of students in the program and help coordinate developing a plan to address these needs.</p> <p>Cultivate strategic relationships with practitioners in the community related to the field of education and serve as a field supervisor for College of Education students.</p> <p>Participate in scholarship related to teaching, application, and the integration and discovery of knowledge through research and professional practice in the discipline of education.</p> <p>Participate in School/University committees, planning sessions, and accreditation site visits.</p> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <p>The candidate must satisfy one of the three criteria for faculty credentials in accordance with institutional policy and HLC guidelines for faculty qualifications.</p> <p>Master's degree in education or a closely related field</p> <p>Preferred Education/Experience</p> <ul> <li>Doctorate degree in education or closely related field </li><li>Curriculum development and program evaluation experience </li><li>Classroom and/or counseling experience in a K-12 or postsecondary education program in the past five years. </li></ul> <p>How to Apply</p> <p>Applicants should electronically submit the following items to Heidi Moore (heidi.moore@mobap.edu).</p> <p>1) Cover letter expressing interest in the position, highlighting experience relevant to the role and describing qualifications and accomplishments.</p> <p>2) Current curriculum vitae.</p> <p>3) Statement of Faith which clearly articulates your view of scripture, salvation and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, your active participation in a local church, and a commitment to perform duties consistent with and not contrary to the University's statement of faith, which is the "Baptist Faith and Message 2000."</p> <p>4) Official graduate transcripts.</p> <p>5) A list of three professional references.</p>
