<p>The position is located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), and the Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6), Central Virginia VA Healthcare System (CVHCS), Richmond VA Medical Center in the Nutrition and Food Service (NFS). The primary duties</p> <p>of this position include driving a box truck/cargo van to various buildings around the campus of the Richmond VA Medical Center.</p> <p>Major Duties and Responsibilities to include but not be limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Incumbent operates vehicles such as a box truck or cargo van (sprinter) with a gross weight of up to 26,000 pounds and operates a gate lift to carry out duties and functions for Nutrition and Food Service. </li><li>Incumbent vehicles operate over Federal, state, and county roads and city streets in all traffic conditions to drive and pick up items overlooked or missing from vendor deliveries; and is required to load and unload vehicles. </li><li>Incumbent transport, food service supplies, meal trays and other items essential to the services provided by Nutrition and Food Service. </li><li>The incumbent loads and unloads food trucks, assuring that cargo is protected from the weather and secured to prevent falling. </li><li>The position is responsible for aspects of the vehicle including maintenance and driving. Incumbent is interior and exterior clean; for all record keeping of fuel, mileage, and reports to the GSA Motor Pool; and the accuracy of the monthly GSA billing, which includes reviewing the monthly gas bill to ensure it is accurate and notifying the motor pool for discrepancies in the bill. </li><li>The incumbent collects and files all completed motor vehicle trip tickets. The position will promote positive customer service by providing supplies in a timely manner to meet Veteran scheduling, programming, and dining needs. </li><li>Additional duties include storeroom/ingredient control support. Such duties include, but are not limited to, receiving and checking in deliveries from supply warehouse, prime vendor, bakery, dairy, and produce contracts; operating electronic power jack lift to move large pallets of food and nonfood supplies from loading dock to appropriate storage areas; assembling, weighing, and/or measuring ingredients for issuance from bulk stock; and processing storeroom requisitions for Veteran programs and transport supplies. </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: 06:00-02:30PM OR 10:00-06:30PM - 40 hours/per week</p> <p>Position Description Title/PD#: Motor Vehicle Operator/PD01523A</p> <p>Relocation/Recruitment Incentives: Not authorized</p>
