<p>Students may only have 5 open job applications at a time.</p> <p>Work Experience:</p> <p>Intermediate (Developing Skills)</p> <p>Work Experience Description:</p> <p>Ideal for students who have begun gaining relevant experience and are building their skills through internships, part-time jobs, or significant projects. Typically aimed at sophomores or juniors who have completed a combination of introductory and advanced coursework.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>Most of the work is as a math tutor for the Math Lab. In addition, tutors attend weekly tutor training meetings, and assist faculty or other instructional staff by performing teaching or teaching-related duties, such as developing teaching materials, giving test reviews, proctoring examinations, and grading examinations or papers.</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Provide feedback to students using positive reinforcement techniques to encourage, motivate, or build confidence in students.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach students study skills, note-taking skills, and test-taking strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Review class material with students by discussing text, working solutions to problems, or reviewing worksheets or other assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide private instruction to individual or small groups of students to improve academic performance, improve occupational skills, or prepare for academic or occupational tests.</p> </li><li> <p>Assess students' progress throughout tutoring sessions.</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Lower Division Courses Completed</p> <p>College Algebra, Trigonometry, statistics (Courses 110, 111, 121).</p> <p>Calculus is a definite plus.</p> <p>Work Experience</p> <p>6 Months General Work Experience</p> <p>Work Schedule</p> <p>Hours are flexible.</p> <p>You may request assignments to be between 10-18 hours per week.</p> <p>18 Hours are not guaranteed.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>Typical classroom environment</p> <p>For more information contact Leo Chang chang1@go.byuh.edu or Elder Thacker at brandon.thacker@byuh.edu</p> <p>Please include the college math coursed you've completed and any other relevant experience.</p> <p>Base Rate Per Hour:</p> <p>14.50</p> <ul> <li>Must exemplify the university Honor Code, including the Dress and Grooming Principles and Expectations </li><li>Preference will be given to students who can work during academic breaks </li></ul>
