<p>This is a union position.</p> <p>Asian American Recovery Services (AARS) is looking for a committed, client-centered, full-time Clinical Therapist who is passionate about serving clients in an outpatient substance use disorder treatment program. Clients will range from low substance use to chronic substance use and needing possible co-occurring capable services. The Clinician provides substance use individual and group therapy based on individualized assessments. Intensity of services is based on the client's stage of change and response to treatment.</p> <p>Hours of operation are Mondays and Fridays from 9:00AM to 6:00pm; Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9:00AM to 8:00PM.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>Individual Treatment Responsibilities: Facilitates intakes/orientations, comprehensive assessments, individualized treatment planning, crisis, collateral, case management and individual counseling sessions with clients. Provides learning experience opportunities and offers clinical support to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals. Proactively links clients to both internal and external resources based on their treatment needs and follows up on the progress/status. Establishes client diagnoses and medical necessity.</p> <p>Treatment Setting Responsibilities: Facilitates group counseling and education sessions as main modality of treatment. May conduct community outreach and education workshops. Performs crisis intervention and works with treatment team to stabilize crisis situations. Attends required trainings and meetings. Plans and facilitates client celebrations and special events. May be asked to work on a weekend or during after-hours for crisis stabilization, community education, resource fairs, and special events.</p> <p>Documentation Responsibilities: Collaborates with each caseload client and other available internal and external resources to develop/maintain treatment plans, transition plans, progress notes and appropriate updates in support of the health and recovery needs of the client. Properly documents all individual and group counseling sessions, attempts to contact, and completes the discharge paperwork/process and required agency assessments in timely manner. Also, maintains accurate records by data entering documentation into various electronic systems for all caseload clients in accordance with guidelines established by HealthRIGHT 360 to satisfy internal and external evaluating requirements.</p> <p>May participate in Peer Chart/ Utilization Reviews for preparation of program audits. Will adhere to documentation policies and procedures set forth by Compliance Department.</p> <p>Be responsive and pro-active in all correspondence with referring parties, judges, probation and parole officers, social workers, and the Quality Improvement Dept. via treatment status reports, phone calls, faxes, etc. Will provide informed, written status reports to the above entities as appropriate.</p> <p>Will assist in providing written progress reports/narratives to Clinical Program Manager or Directors as requested.</p> <p>Other duties as assigned.</p> <p>EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:</p> <p>Education</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Master's Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related field with current registration with Behavioral Board of Sciences (BBS). </li><li>Clinical Therapist I: BBS Registered or </li><li>Clinical Therapist III: Licensed by the BBS </li><li>First Aid Certified within 60 days of employment </li><li>CPR Certified within 60 days of employment </li><li>Valid California driver's license </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Ideal candidate will also have extensive experience with substance abuse treatment including certification with a Drug and Alcohol Certification program recognized by DHCS </li><li>Licensed by the Board of Behavioral Sciences </li></ul> <p>Knowledge</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of substance abuse recovery principles and resources; including Co-occurring disorders and trauma informed treatment </li><li>Knowledge of cultural stigmas of counseling and treatment services </li><li>Knowledge of principles and techniques of social work, case management, crisis intervention, client centered counseling, and group facilitation </li><li>Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word Outlook and internet applications </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge and experience with Medi-CAL documentation standards </li><li>Knowledge of mental health recovery and evidence based practices </li></ul> <p>Skills and Abilities</p> <p>Required:</p> <ul> <li>Experience and ability to work with the criminal justice population </li><li>Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data </li><li>Professionalism, punctuality, flexibility and reliability are imperative </li><li>Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Integrity to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner </li><li>Action oriented. Strong problem-solving skills </li><li>Excellent organization skills and ability to multitask and juggle multiple priorities. Outstanding ability to follow-through with tasks </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of interdisciplinary team and independently assume responsibility </li><li>Ability to respond to after-hours crisis line on a rotating basis </li><li>Strong initiative and enthusiasm and willingness to pitch in whenever needed </li><li>Able to communicate well at all levels of the organization including working with organization leadership and high-level representatives of partner organizations </li><li>Able to work within a frequently changing project scope while maintaining overall direction and structured priorities </li><li>Ability to work at minimum one late day (until 8pm). </li></ul> <p>Desired:</p> <ul> <li>Experience working within the Santa Clara County -Department of Behavioral Health Services system </li><li>Verbal and written skills in one of the County's threshold languages, including Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Mandarin/Cantonese </li></ul>
