<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Position: Social Studies Teacher (Grades 9-12)</p> <p>Term: Beginning 2026-2027 School Year</p> <p>Classification: Professional Employee</p> <p>FTE: Full-Time</p> <p>We invite prospective applicants to apply for the position of SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER (GRADES 9-12) at the Southern Lehigh School High School.</p> <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>(1) Deliver instruction in various social studies content areas.</p> <p>(2) Create and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with state standards and district curriculum</p> <p>(2) Implement effective instructional strategies that cater to diverse learning styles and promote student growth in all subject areas.</p> <p>(3) Assess student progress through various methods, including formative and summative assessments as well as use data to inform instruction.</p> <p>(4) Develop a positive and supportive classroom environment that fosters student success and well-being, including establishing clear rules and procedures that promote respect and collaboration.</p> <p>(5) Utilize a variety of instructional materials and technology to enhance student learning and engagement to meet the needs of all learners.</p> <p>(6) Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, including providing regular feedback to students, collaborating with parents to support student learning at home, and working with colleagues to share best practices.</p> <p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS</p> <p>Certification: A valid (active) Pennsylvania Instructional I/ II certification in Social Studies 7-12 required.</p> <p>Experience: Previous experience with teaching and supporting students in social studies preferred.</p> <p>Note: Selected candidates must be able to produce valid [1] PA State Criminal Record Check (ACT 34), [2] FBI Criminal History Record Investigation (ACT 114), [3] PA DHS Child Abuse History Clearance (ACT 151). and [4] PA Arrest/Conviction Report Certification Form (ACT 24) all within one year of issue at the time of hire.</p> <p>COMPENSATION</p> <p>FLSA EXEMPT: in accordance with the SLSD-SLEA Collective Bargaining Agreement</p> <p>DIRECTIONS</p> <p>Please complete an online application and attach supporting documentation (Cover Letter and Resume).
