<p>This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>BLMS is seeking an energetic and engaged person to create and coordinate a vibrant volunteer program at our school. Bullitt Lick Middle School is looking for a motivated, positive individual to provide specialized services for Bullitt Lick Middle School in relation to parents and/or the community at large.</p> <p>Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provides specialized services for an assigned program involving the school, district, and students in relation to the community and parents. </li><li>Surveys local community for the availability of volunteers to assist teachers in various school-related programs. </li><li>Makes personal contact with potential volunteer recruits by letter, telephone visit or group meeting. </li><li>Acquaints teachers, both as individuals and in group sessions, with the theory and positive aspects of having a school volunteer program. </li><li>Requests and utilizes suggestions from principals and teachers for a well organized, consistent volunteer program. </li><li>Develops and distributes program material and literature to inform the community and parents of the volunteer program. </li><li>Monitors and evaluates program effectiveness; follows-up on specific cases as necessary. </li><li>Coordinates meetings and special gatherings in support of volunteer programs. </li><li>Serves as a liaison between the school and students, support groups, parents and others. </li><li>Plans, organizes and implements a volunteer program for a school. </li><li>Arranges periodic conferences with each volunteer, teacher and the principal to determine successes and problems. </li></ul> <ol start="12"> <li> <p>Arranges for periodic recognition of volunteers for services given.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with health records.</p> </li></ol> <p>This position is 3 hours per day and 177 days per year.</p> <p>(170 student instructional days and 7 planning days)</p> <p>Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date.</p> <p>(If combined with another position that is at least 1 hour per day, then applicant would be eligible for benefits and 4 paid holidays)</p> <ul> <li>Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Must provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire. </li></ul> <p>Salary based on Board approved salary schedule for 2025-2026 school year.</p> <p>24-25 payscale</p> <p>Step 0: $15.59 per hour</p> <p>Step 10: $16.84 per hour</p> <p>New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)</p> <p>Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by number of remaining paychecks. This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.</p> <p>formula to calculate salary</p> <p>hours per day x hourly rate = daily rate</p> <p>daily rate x contracted days = salary</p> <p>salary / # of pays left = gross biweekly pay</p>
