This employee must have knowledge of and the ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary, spelling and legal terminology to compose and/or proofread correspondence, legal pleadings, reports and other materials as well as accounting procedures in ACTS, mathematics, and their application in the work environment. They must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. The employee must demonstrate the ability to record, compile, summarize and analyze data, the ability to review and process information to determine conclusions, actions, or compliance with applicable laws, rules, or regulations. They must exercise judgment, discretion, and negotiation skills in problem situations. The employee must demonstrate the ability to learn, interpret and explain policies, regulations, and programs as well as work independently by responding to inquiries and coordinate a variety of data in acquiring and disseminating information.</p> <p>The primary purpose of the position is to provide administrative support to thirteen (13) child support agents, two (2) child support supervisors, the paralegal, and the child support attorney in the IV-D unit by copying, typing, and filing legal documents, preparing legal documents for mailing, researching court files, collecting and receipting fees, and maintaining payment logs and reconciling them.</p> <p>Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills, and abilities gained through at least three years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or completion of a two-year secretarial science or business administration program with on year of responsible experience as described above; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.</p> <p>Must have a valid Notary or obtain one within six (6) months of employment.</p> <p>WORK SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday / 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.</p> <p>APPLICATION PROCESS: Please go to www.co.iredell.nc.us to submit an electronic application.
