<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Dean College's Dean R. Sanders '47 School of Business is looking for a dynamic, experienced, student-centered educator to teach Digital Video Production II on campus (in person) during the Fall 2025 semester. The College seeks Adjunct Faculty who focus on experiential learning and active engagement in their classrooms. Adjuncts chosen to teach at Dean create a compelling and professional learning environment for students of diverse learning backgrounds.</p> <p>We are seeking an adjunct instructor for COM-223: Digital Video Production II. COM-223 is a 4-credit class that meets on campus for 2.5 hours/week. One additional contact hour will be required by the faculty teaching asynchronously delivering online tutorials requiring students to do assigned editing exercises using the Adobe Premiere editing software application. The adjunct pay rate is $4,400/section. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach. The Communications program provides a course charter with course objectives as well as sample syllabi. All faculty are expected to make active use of the learning management system (Canvas) at least at a minimum level established by the College.</p> <p>The course description is as follows: Using HD field equipment and Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite digital editing software, students will further their study in digital storytelling for the traditional sectors of TV and film as well as for the growing online sectors, including social networking sites and websites. This course will focus on the technical and aesthetic aspects of producing, directing, budgeting and on-location shooting.</p> <p>There is one Course section available. The course is scheduled to meet on Wednesdays from 3:30pm-6:20om, which includes two 10-minute breaks.</p> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in communications, or related discipline area is required; PhD in a related discipline, preferred. </li><li>Knowledge of digital video production, with a minimum of three years teaching experience, preferred. </li><li>Experience teaching at the college level both in person and online, required. </li><li>Experience teaching second year undergraduates, preferred. </li><li>Strong computer skills, required. </li><li>Ability and willingness to be responsive and supportive to students through college online resources and digital tools, required. </li><li>Experience with or willingness to learn Canvas, our learning management system, and classroom media, required. </li><li>Expertise in learner-centered teaching, required. </li><li>Experience using technologies and/or strategies to enhance pedagogy, required. </li><li>Experience and ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse student body with a variety of learning styles, required. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Dean College is an equal-opportunity, Title IX institution and pledges to recruit, select and promote diversity by providing equality of opportunity in higher education for all persons, including faculty and staff with respect to hiring, continuation, promotion, and applicants for admission, enrolled students and graduates without discrimination or segregation.</p> <p>The College is interested in candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of colleagues, students, faculty, and community members.
