Reporting to the Director of Safety, the Hazmat Technician is responsible for the performance of tasks associated with emergency response, hazardous and non-hazardous materials clean-up, site-remediation, equipment decontamination, handling of hazardous materials, and other duties as required.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>40 Hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification required </li><li>Based on OSHA and industry health standards, wear proper personal protective equipment when required </li><li>Work effectively and communicate with team members and other departments </li><li>Inform the management team of issues that arise on jobs in a timely manner </li><li>Update job notes daily </li><li>Physically fit; able to lift 75 lbs. </li><li>Able to thrive in a high-pressure and fast-paced team-supported environment </li><li>Lead safety in all aspects of emergency response, including following R+L procedures, properly containerizing waste/re-use products, and completing safety documentation, and upholding R+L's high level of safety </li><li>Experience operating tools applicable to emergency response activities </li><li>Set up and participate in live training events to ensure the competency of personnel </li><li>Audit incoming/outgoing hazardous materials shipments for compliance </li><li>Ability and willingness to coach co-workers on unsafe behaviors observed </li><li>Willing to participate in specialized scheduled projects as required </li><li>Competent in Microsoft Office applications such as, but not limited to, Excel, Word, and Outlook </li><li>Exceptional interpersonal skills, customer service, and problem-solving skills </li><li>Proven ability to work in a confidential capacity </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks, while being detail oriented </li></ul>
