<p>Apply Now</p> <p>This is a full-time summer position, from approximately June through August, 40 hrs/week.</p> <p>JOB OVERVIEW: The purpose of this position is to perform general secretarial duties for the Board of Equalization (BOE) involving typing, data entry, maintenance, and organization of BOE records.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Attends Board of Equalization meetings, sets up and operates recording equipment, takes meeting minutes and transcribes as needed. </li><li>Accepts and presents taxpayer appeals to the BOE. </li><li>Schedules taxpayer hearings before the BOE. </li><li>Prepares correspondence notifying taxpayers regarding BOE appeal decisions. </li><li>Enters data into tax records. </li><li>Enters BOE decisions into minutes journals. </li><li>Communicates orally and in writing with taxpayers and Assessor's office. </li><li>Acts as BOE and taxpayer representative. </li><li>Organizes appeal records. Files appeals. Scans/photocopies printed materials. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>REQUIREMENTS: High school education or equivalent and additional clerical training, one to two years clerical experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered.</p> <ul> <li>Ability to classify, compute and tabulate data and information, following a prescribed plan requiring the exercise of some judgment. </li><li>Ability to compare, count, differentiate, measure and sort information. </li><li>Ability to assemble, copy, record and transcribe data and information. </li><li>Ability to operate a variety of office equipment. </li></ul> <p>TO APPLY: All applications must be submitted using the APPLY NOW link above.
