<p>Position Summary</p> <p>This position is responsible for supervising the overall operations of the Records Office including the processing of legal actions and providing information to criminal justice agencies and the public as required and/or requested, provision of technical services to Persons in Our Care (PIOC), DOC staff and the public. This position manages the Records Office; supervises subordinate staff; and implementing the Affirmative Action/Civil Rights Compliance Plans within areas of responsibility and in compliance with federal and state laws. This position requires the exercise of considerable independent judgment and responsibility to assure that the release of PIOC is consistent with court-established sentences and current law.</p> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>This position is in pay schedule and range 81-04 with a starting pay of $25.00/hour - $38.05/hour, plus excellent benefits. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.</p> <p>The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.</p> <p>This position is eligible to telecommute occasionally.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Performing complex mathematical calculations/computations, (e.g. performing sentence computations, accounting practices or financial/budgeting.) </li><li>Performing supervisory or leadership role duties (e.g. training, assigning, reviewing, evaluating the work of others etc.) </li><li>Monitoring regulatory activity to maintain compliance with records and documents and document management laws. </li></ul> <p>In addition to the above, well qualified applicants will have experience:</p> <ul> <li>Communicating with people outside the organization representing the organization to customers, the public, government and other external sources (i.e. by letter, phone, in person, virtually etc.) </li><li>Analyzing, interpreting and applying state and federal laws, administrative rules and regulations </li><li>Reviewing and interpreting court procedures or legal documents </li></ul> <p>How To Apply</p> <p>To apply, click on "Apply for Job" to start the application process.
