<p>Join us for the 2026-2027 school year!</p> <p>MWMS is looking for a caring, compassionate, student centered individual to join our team. This individual needs to be organized, flexible, a team player and willing to support the needs of all students at MWMS. We are looking for someone with experience with children with special needs including emotional behavior disorders. This individual will be able to help students to engage in their learning experiences. We believe that creating a positive, loving environment for every student, every day, will create a legacy of excellence in our community and in their future.</p> <p>If you are passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative environment, we want to hear from you!</p> <p>Position Details</p> <p>Hours: 6.5 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)</p> <p>Contract Length: 183 days per year</p> <ul> <li>170 student instructional days </li><li>4 holidays </li><li>7 planning days </li><li>2 extended days </li></ul> <p>Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start date</p> <p>Employment Status: Full-time with benefits</p> <p>Employment Type: 10-month employee on the classified pay schedule</p> <p>Qualifications & Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Education: Must meet one of the following: </li><li>48 college semester hours </li><li>An Associate's Degree OR </li><li>High school diploma plus a passing score on the Paraeducator Assessment Exam. </li><li>Documentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire. </li></ul> <p>Compensation & Experience Credit</p> <p>Salary for the 2026-2027 school year will be based on Board approved salary schedule.</p> <p>2025-2026 Pay Scale</p> <ul> <li>Starting Pay (Step 0): $15.98/hour </li><li>Experienced Pay (Step 10): $19.67/hour </li></ul> <p>We value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.</p> <p>New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.</p> <ul> <li>The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR. </li></ul> <p>Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.</p> <p>Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate <> Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary. <> Annual salary ÷ Remaining pay periods = Gross biweekly pay</p> <p>Benefits of Joining BCPS</p> <p>We are committed to Moving Forward with our staff! Benefits include:</p> <ul> <li>Retirement: Membership in the Kentucky Public Pensions Authority (KPPA). </li><li>Life Insurance (Total $50,000): FREE TO YOU! $20,000 paid by the State of Kentucky and $30,000 paid by BCPS. </li><li>Health Coverage: Comprehensive Health Insurance (employee premium based on plan selected) or Waiver HRA options. </li><li>Time Off: Sick Leave, Personal Leave, and Emergency Leave (prorated). Unused Personal Leave rolls over to Sick Leave.
