<p>Position Summary</p> <p>As the Laboratory Supervisor, this position has overall responsibility for the direction, supervision, and administration of the Laboratory Department at WMHI and Wisconsin Resource Center (WRC). This includes:</p> <ul> <li>the provision of an efficient specimen collection system, an ongoing in-service education and certification program </li><li>monitoring laboratory procedures </li><li>coordinating a collaborative working relationship with other Institute departments </li><li>developing and implementing the Laboratory Department quality assurance and improvement plan </li><li>complying with all federal and state laws governing laboratory services, and with Joint Commission and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) standards </li></ul> <p>Salary Information</p> <p>The starting pay is between $36.50 and $45.67 per hour (approximately $75,900 and $94,900 per year), depending on qualifications, plus excellent benefits. A 12-month probationary period is required.</p> <p>Pay for current or former state employees will be set based on the rules that apply to compensation for the applicable transaction. This position is classified as a Medical Technologist Supervisor and is in pay schedule and range 81/03.</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>All applicants will be required to allow DHS to conduct a background check to determine whether the circumstances of any convictions may be related to the job being filled.</p> <p>All appointees will be required to receive a TB screen, which will be administered by WMHI or medical personnel approved by the facility prior to their start date.</p> <p>DHS does not sponsor work visas for this position, thus, in compliance with federal law, selected candidates will be required to verify eligibility to work in the United States by completing the required I-9 form upon hire.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Minimally qualified applicants will have all of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of science in Medical Lab Sciences/Medical Technology or other applied science. </li><li>Certification as a Medical Lab Scientist or Medical Technologist from the American Society for Clinical Pathology. </li><li>Experience in a lead or supervisory role (e.g., leading projects or programs, coaching or training new staff, serving as a unit/area lead, etc.). </li><li>Experience collecting and analyzing lab specimens and performing phlebotomy. </li></ul> <p>Well-qualified applicants will also have one or more of the following:</p> <ul> <li>Experience in a professional supervisory or management position over laboratory technicians (e.g., managing staff workload, delegating work responsibilities, hiring, disciplining, completing performance reviews, etc.). </li><li>Experience directing and leading policy analysis, development, and implementation. </li><li>Experience interpreting and applying the Joint Commission Standards and accreditation requirements and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) laboratory standards. </li><li>Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems (e.g., Cerner, PathNet, etc.). </li></ul> <p>Your letter of qualifications is limited to two (2) pages and your resume is limited to two (2) pages.
