<p>Description</p> <p>Title:School of Life Sciences Lecturer Pool (Summer 2026)</p> <p>Position Number:000LECX</p> <p>Hiring Unit:C OF NAT SCI, SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES, SCHOOL OF LIFE SCIENCES</p> <p>Location: UH at Manoa</p> <p>Full Time/Part Time: Part-time</p> <p>Temporary/Permanent: Temporary</p> <p>Lecturers needed to teach the following courses this Summer 2026:</p> <p>BIOL 331: Marine Mammal Biology (3 cr), Summer Session 1 May 26, 2026-July 2, 2026</p> <p>Overview of marine mammal science, significance and roles of marine mammals in their ecosystems, and marine conservation issues. Current research topics in marine mammal sciences will also be covered.</p> <p>Pre: C (not C-) or better in BIOL 171/BIOL171L, BIOL 172/BIOL 172L, and BIOL 265; or consent.</p> <p>General Education Designation(s): DB</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Available to teach during the entire summer session 1, May 26-July 2, 2026; MS degree or advancement to candidacy in a PhD degree in Biology or related field; Knowledge of marine mammal biology</p> <p>Desirable Qualifications:</p> <p>Previous college-level teaching experience; online teaching experience; demonstrated teaching proficiency; strong scientific writing skills; demonstrated organizational skills; PhD in Biology or related field.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:Teach course(s) and/or associated lab sections for the duration of the session: preparing and delivering lectures, writing and grading exams and other assessments, meeting with students outside of class time.
