<p>Posting Open Date: August 1, 2025</p> <p>Anticipated Posting Close Date*: September 15, 2025</p> <ul> <li>Job posting may close early due to the volume of applicants. </li></ul> <p>Senior Manager Billing</p> <p>Fastly is seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Manager, Billing to lead and evolve the billing function. This highly visible role requires a blend of strong operational leadership, process improvement expertise, SOX compliance knowledge, and strong collaboration skills to support a sophisticated, consumption-based billing model. You will play a key role in enhancing billing accuracy. You will also lead efforts to automate manual processes and billing. Additionally, you'll support audit readiness and help enable scalable growth.</p> <p>What You'll Do:</p> <p>Billing Operations & Optimization</p> <ul> <li>Lead end-to-end billing operations for a usage-based (consumption) model, including both system-generated and manual invoice processes. </li><li>Drive improvements in billing accuracy, timeliness, and scalability by identifying automation opportunities and implementing best practices. </li><li>Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Deal Strategy, RevOps, IT, Engineering) to improve upstream data flow and integration with billing systems. </li></ul> <p>Process Improvement & Systems Integration</p> <ul> <li>Analyze and redesign current billing workflows and tools to reduce manual effort and enhance reliability. </li><li>Partner closely with IT to align system capabilities with billing requirements and evolving business models. </li><li>Document processes and ensure clear ownership across the integrated billing lifecycle. </li></ul> <p>Compliance & Audit Readiness</p> <ul> <li>Maintain and enhance internal controls to ensure SOX compliance for billing operations. </li><li>Prepare and support internal and external audits, ensuring documentation and control evidence are complete and accurate. </li><li>Continuously monitor and improve control effectiveness in collaboration with internal audit and finance teams. </li></ul> <p>Cross-Functional Partnership</p> <ul> <li>Build strong relationships with Sales, Deal Strategy, RevOps, IT, Engineering stakeholders to foster collaboration and shared accountability for billing accuracy. </li><li>Serve as a subject matter expert and problem solver for billing-related inquiries and escalations. </li><li>Communicate clearly and constructively, especially when resolving issues or managing competing priorities. </li></ul> <p>Team Leadership & Development</p> <ul> <li>Lead and mentor a team of billing professionals, providing guidance, structure, and development opportunities. </li><li>Set performance expectations, build team confidence, and cultivate a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. </li><li>Assess skill gaps and implement team training, coaching, or process changes as needed. </li></ul> <p>What We're Looking For:</p> <ul> <li>10+ years of experience in billing, order-to-cash, or revenue operations in a fast-paced technology environment. </li><li>4+ years in a management role leading billing teams, with experience navigating complex operational challenges. </li><li>Deep understanding of usage-based (consumption) billing and related systems and data flows. </li><li>Strong knowledge of SOX 404 controls, audit preparation, and public company requirements. </li><li>Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements. </li><li>Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills. </li><li>Experience with ERP and billing platforms (e.g., NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar). </li></ul> <p>We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these:</p> <ul> <li>CPA, MBA, or relevant finance/accounting certification. </li><li>Familiarity with metering systems or usage data platforms. </li></ul> <p>Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours.</p> <p>Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:</p> <p>This position is open to the following preferred office locations:</p> <ul> <li> <p>San Francisco</p> </li><li> <p>Denver</p> </li></ul> <p>Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home.</p> <p>Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance and the Los Angeles Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.</p> <p>Salary:</p> <p>The estimated salary range for this position is $139,830.00 - $186,444.00</p> <p>Starting salary may vary based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as experience, skills, qualifications, and location.</p> <p>This role may be eligible to participate in Fastly's equity and discretionary bonus programs.</p> <p>Benefits: We care about you.
