<p>Massachusetts Municipal Finance Fellowship Intern</p> <p>Department: Generic Division</p> <p>Location: Metrowest Area</p> <p>MassBay fosters educational excellence and academic success to prepare students for local and global citizenship, to promote their personal growth, to meet critical workforce demands of communities, and to contribute to the region's economic development.</p> <p>Massachusetts Bay Community College is served by a cadre of employees of varied backgrounds and experiences. We invite all individuals to consider joining our community.</p> <p>Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The ideal candidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire and ability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. This is a part-time, student employment position with no benefits.</p> <p>This program will provide a training program on Municipal Finance from May 12th, 2026, to August 29, 2026. The training program will include a field learning experience at a local municipality. Through the training and field experience it is hoped that students will see employment opportunities and potential career pathways within Municipal Finance. The successful candidate will receive a stipend for the entirety of the program based on attendance.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Students will be expected to act professionally with instructors, college mentors and municipal supervisors and employees;</p> </li><li> <p>Be accountable to the Code of Conduct of their sending college;</p> </li><li> <p>Follow the dress code of the local municipality for the field experience;</p> </li><li> <p>Meet with the college mentor/representative and provide all requested information or surveys in a timely manner.</p> </li></ul> <p>This list is not to be considered all-inclusive. A supervisor may assign other duties as required to meet the needs and foster the mission of the College.</p> <p>All employees of MassBay are expected to work collegially and collaboratively within a community that values and celebrates the variety of student experience.</p> <p>Required Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Must be enrolled in an Associate Degree program in Accounting, Economics, or Business Administration;</p> </li><li> <p>Students with coursework in accounting, economics, statistics, management, computer applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and finance are encouraged to apply;</p> </li><li> <p>Candidates should have an interest in public service and strong mathematical, organizational, written, and verbal skills.</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action;</p> </li><li> <p>Experience working in a community college or similar environment;</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need.</p> </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>Salary Range: Stipend $10,000 - $12,200</p> <p>Classification: Student Employee</p> <p>Source of Funding: Grant-Funded</p> <p>Application Deadline: April 17th, 2026, or after that until filled.</p> <p>Hiring is contingent upon a successful CORI clearance.</p> <p>We require students who are eligible to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to have one on file, before they are hired or continue employment.</p> <p>Massachusetts Bay Community College is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, disability, religion, age, veteran status, genetic information, gender identity or sexual orientation in its programs and activities as required by Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and other applicable statutes and college policies.
