Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking a Senior Fixed Income Credit Analyst to join the team!</p> <p>Job Overview:</p> <p>The Investment Officer is responsible for evaluating, monitoring, and making recommendations on fixed income investments within the insurance company's general account portfolio. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the company achieves its investment objectives of preserving capital, generating stable returns, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and rating agency requirements.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct rigorous, in-depth fundamental credit analysis of U.S. and global investment-grade public corporate issuers and securities across all major sectors. </li><li>Evaluate issuer financial statements, capital structures, liquidity profiles, management quality, business models, competitive positioning, and industry dynamics to form forward-looking credit opinions. </li><li>Monitor and assess rating agency actions, outlooks, and methodologies, incorporating implications for credit risk, NAIC designation, and regulatory capital treatment. </li><li>Analyze macroeconomic conditions, interest rate movements, and credit market trends to inform sector outlooks, relative value assessments, and portfolio positioning. </li><li>Identify relative value opportunities across sectors, issuers, maturities, and capital structures within the investment-grade corporate bond market. </li><li>Develop, document, and present clear buy/hold/sell recommendations to portfolio management, supported by thorough credit rationale and downside risk assessment. </li><li>Ensure all investment recommendations align with the company's risk tolerance, asset-liability management (ALM) objectives, liquidity needs, and insurance regulatory guidelines, including RBC considerations. </li><li>Monitor existing portfolio holdings for changes in credit quality, financial performance, covenant compliance, and emerging risks, proactively identifying improving or deteriorating credit trends. </li><li>Execute and monitor trades in coordination with portfolio management, ensuring adherence to portfolio strategy, internal investment guidelines, and prevailing market conditions. </li><li>Perform analytical tracking of individual securities and portfolios, including spread performance, total return attribution, and exposure concentrations. </li><li>Assist in the preparation of portfolio statistics, transaction summaries, and investment commentary for internal reporting and governance purposes. </li><li>Collaborate closely with portfolio managers, risk management, accounting, and operations teams to support accurate investment reporting and effective portfolio oversight. </li><li>Evaluate and recommend enhancements to research tools, analytics platforms, and data providers to improve credit research depth, efficiency, and decision-making. </li><li>Serve as a senior contributor within the investment team, providing mentorship, insight, and market perspective as appropriate. </li></ul> <p>The 37.5-hour work week is scheduled from Monday through Friday, between the core hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM.</p> <p>A hybrid schedule will be available once trained to work independently, with three days reporting to our Lincoln, RI office and two days working from home.</p> <p>This role does not currently offer employment visa sponsorship.</p> <p>Total Rewards:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, vision coverage, short- and long-term disability, and life insurance </li><li>Paid Vacation - you will receive at least 13 vacation days in the first 12 months, amounts could be greater depending on the role. Additionally, annual 3% non-elective employer contribution </li><li>Annual Success Sharing Plan - Paid to eligible employees if company meets or exceeds combined ratio, growth and/or service goals </li><li>Generous leave programs, including paid parental bonding leave </li><li>Student Loan Repayment and Tuition Reimbursement programs </li><li>Generous fitness and wellness reimbursement </li><li>Employee community involvement </li><li>Strong relationships, lifelong friendships </li><li>Opportunities for advancement in a successful and growing company </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field required; MBA and/or CFA designation strongly preferred. </li><li>Experience: Minimum of 10-15+ years of progressive credit research experience covering investment-grade public corporate bonds, preferably within an insurance company, asset manager, rating agency, or sell-side research environment. </li><li>Demonstrated expertise across the full investment-grade corporate bond market, including sector analysis, capital structure evaluation, and relative value assessment. </li><li>Strong understanding of insurance investment considerations, including statutory accounting, NAIC designations, and risk-based capital (RBC) implications. </li><li>Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex credit views to senior stakeholders. </li><li>High proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, and Bloomberg; familiarity with BondEdge, FactSet, or comparable fixed income analytics and risk management systems preferred. </li></ul> <p>Amica conducts background checks which includes a review of criminal, educational, employment and social media histories, and if the role involves use of a company vehicle, a motor vehicle or driving history report.
