<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, Coastal Empire Community Mental Health Center, 65 Forest Drive, Varnville, SC 29944.</p> <p>The Office of Mental Health's mission is to support the recovery of people with mental illnesses. We provide a complete array of medical and support services for children, adults, and families throughout South Carolina.</p> <p>As the Mental Health Professional, working under direct supervision clinic director, will provide direct services such as assessment services, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy services. Provide crisis intervention services to patients and their families. Services are primarily delivered in the school setting. Serve as a liaison for the County Schools, DSS and Family Court.</p> <p>Responsibilities for the Mental Health Professional:</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct clinical services to children, adolescents, and their families in the clinic/school setting. Provide assessments, individual therapy, family therapy, and group therapy as appropriate/indicated. Also, you will provide crisis management services as needed and ensure documentation of all services provided following established standards. </li><li>Provide consultation/education activities and case management on behalf of our consumers to community agencies as requested, under the supervision of the Hampton Clinic Director as well as guidance from the CAF coordinator. </li><li>Participate in weekly team staffings with other mental health professionals, as well as attend and participate in CAF staffings as scheduled. </li><li>Provide consultation and assist in coordination of hospital admissions and placement of children and adolescents under supervision of Hampton Clinic Director and guidance from CAF Coordinator. Provide follow-up after discharge. </li><li>Participate in school related activities such as PTO's, classroom presentations, and other extra-curricular-related activities in support of client (student) relations as approved by direct supervisor. </li><li>Provide limited consultation/educational activities in the community upon request and approval by supervisor. </li></ul> <p>This position MAY be eligible for SCOMH Student Loan Repayment to cover some of the cost of your outstanding loan(s) balance associated with the completion of a healthcare degree that is relevant to the appliable position.</p> <p>Coastal Empire CMHC is an approved site of the National Health Service Corps (NHSC), which offers student loan repayment of up to $50,000.00 to employees of NHSC- approved sites. You must be a US Citizen, you must be licensed to practice independently in the state where you are hired and you must have unpaid government or commercial school loans. There is a two year service commitment required as well.
