<p>SUMMARY:</p> <p>Responsible for overseeing The Bradley School's overall philosophy of therapeutic education within one or more of our school sites. The core Success Factors include:</p> <ul> <li>Instill Trust and Value Differences </li><li>Patient and Community Focus and Collaborate </li></ul> <p>In addition, our leaders will demonstrate an aptitude for:</p> <ul> <li>Ensure Accountability and Build Effective Teams </li><li>Drive Vision and Purpose and Optimize Work Processes </li></ul> <p>By applying core and leadership competencies, leaders help Brown University Health achieve its strategic goals.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Oversees all site specific operations, including custodial and building repair. </li><li>Works collaboratively with Brown University Health Property Management to address site specific operations. </li><li>Oversees the development, implementation, and review of assessments and interventions for all students in the assigned Bradley School program(s). </li><li>Supervises all Program staff (e.g., Psychologists, Social Workers, OTs, Speech/Language Pathologists, Teachers, Classroom Behavior Specialists, Nurses) in collaboration with appropriate departmental personnel. </li><li>Works with appropriate departmental personnel in completing performance evaluations on all program staff. </li><li>Makes recommendations to the BS Director regarding staffing needs and coordinates the process of selecting staff for the Program. </li><li>Provides clinical leadership and consultation for team leaders and clinicians. </li><li>Manages the referral and discharge process for all students. </li><li>May act as a team leader for one classroom teams and may provide up to 10 hours of clinical service to students and families. </li><li>Oversees the development and implementation of therapeutic educational programming within the stand-alone school(s) and related public school partnership classrooms. </li><li>Collaborates with local law enforcement and other relevant stakeholders in the development and implementation of school-based emergency procedures. </li><li>Develops and implements philosophy of therapeutic education consistent with the BS mission in collaboration with the BS Director. </li><li>Develops effective, flexible, and innovative approaches to therapeutic education with direct contact with referring school systems and community mental health professionals. </li><li>Maintains excellent relationships with special education directors, school systems, and agencies/programs serving school-age children and adolescents. </li><li>Provides leadership in referral development and marketing activities for assigned Bradley School site. </li><li>Collaborates with fellow Clinical Directors to address system wide staffing, program development, and program implementation issues. </li><li>Develops budget on a yearly basis with revenue and expense projection and have contingencies if revenue projections are under or over budget. </li><li>Generates, plans, and implements proposals for new programming consistent with the Program mission. 1-3-5 year plan for expansion and clinical quality improvement. </li><li>Follows all policies and procedures for the assigned school site consistent with the BS standards of practice. </li><li>Works with the BS Director in developing and implementing QA/QI activities for the assigned Bradley School site. </li><li>May participate as a faculty member in Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior in the Alpert Medical School of Brown University training program by providing supervision, teaching, and/or conducting research. </li><li>Performs other duties as assigned by the BS Director. </li><li>Observes all relevant BS guiding principles, policies, rules, and regulations, including those pertaining to Quality Improvement, Quality Assurance, Infection Control, Risk Management, and Safety. </li></ul> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>BASIC KNOWLEDGE:</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology; Master's Degree in Social Work will be considered if the individual has a particularly strong background as a supervisor of professional trainees and proven ability to teach at the Brown faculty level. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to students throughout the life span with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process. </li></ul> <p>EXPERIENCE:</p> <ul> <li>Expertise in psychiatric and/or developmental disorders of children and adolescents, comfort and experience with the use of evidence-based approaches to assessment and treatment. </li><li>A minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work in a setting working with children and families and in supervising clinical work. </li><li>Clinical expertise in treating children and adolescents with serious psychiatric and/or developmental disorders, ability to work effectively with a variety of professional colleagues, ability to inspire others, proven ability to maintain good relationships with schools and community agencies, commitment to training and research. </li><li>Strong knowledge base in learning and cognitive impairments. Ability, commitment, and motivation to contribute significantly to Bradley/Brown teaching and research activities. </li></ul> <p>WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Work is within a school classroom and/or office environment. Employees in this position work in a special education setting under stressful conditions associated with care of students with severe emotional, behavioral, and/or developmental challenges (which may include aggressive and/or self-injurious behaviors</p> <p>INDEPENDENT ACTION:</p> <p>Performs independently within BS policies and practices.
