One of the largest behavioral health facilities in the nation, Peace Hospital is known for providing care for children, adolescents, adults and senior adults, age 55 and older. Our Kosair for Kids Children's Peace Center is the largest and most comprehensive private provider of youth inpatient behavioral health services in the country treating children and adolescents with behavioral health and co-occurring disorders. We have a partial hospitalization program for school-aged children and an inpatient specialty program for children and adolescents who have complex treatment needs, such as intellectual or developmental disabilities accompanied by acute behavioral and psychiatric symptoms. UofL Health is home to over 14,000 team members, 1000+ providers, 200+ practice locations, 9 hospitals, and 4 medical centers.</p> <p>Our Mission</p> <p>As an academic health care system, we will transform the health of the communities we serve through compassionate, innovative, patient-centered care.</p> <p>Job Summary</p> <p>The Assessment Clinician (and Triage) evaluates individuals seeking behavioral health/substance use treatment and seeks justification for admission. Conducts evaluations at local hospitals, UofL Health- Peace Hospital, and other community agencies and facilities. Refers patients to appropriate services and assists in the intake process for those patients admitted. Determines provisional diagnosis and discusses treatment recommendations with patient, family, and medical providers. Coordinates level of care expectations with physicians, Assessment Referral Center, personnel, patient care units, and external agencies. Develops relationships with community partners by consistently providing quality services. Conducts insurance pre-certifications for individuals evaluated. May provide assessment services for various patient populations including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric. Medical Staff and Board of Directors under the EMTALA policy consider Assessment Referral Center Clinicians who are employed by the hospital, and qualified to perform emergency screening exams/assessments by education, experience, and demonstrated current competence as "Qualified Medical Persons" to conduct emergency behavioral health and substance use screening exams.</p> <p>Benefits & Perks</p> <ul> <li>Competitive Pay & Benefits Options </li><li>Paid Vacation, Sick days, and Holidays </li><li>Free tuition to UofL for Part- and Full-time employees for Child/Spouse/Domestic </li><li>Partner401K with Employer Match </li><li>Opportunities for Advancement </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in social work, Counseling/Clinical Psychology, or other related fields OR BSN and 1 year of experience in related field. </li><li>Valid Driver's License </li><li>BLS required from American Heart Association </li><li>Ability to complete Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training and successful completion during new hire orientation </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>One year of experience in mental health field and previous experience in crisis intervention or an assessment/diagnostic setting </li></ul>
