No matter your role, you'll be appreciated and welcomed here.</p> <p>Position Summary: The Bus Driver will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations on assigned bus routes, ensuring a comfortable and timely journey.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Operate a bus and follow designated routes and schedules. </li><li>Ensure the safety of passengers during transit, including adherence to traffic rules and regulations </li><li>Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking the bus, ensuring a courteous and helpful attitude. </li><li>Communicate effectively with passengers, providing information about routes, schedules, and fare payment options. </li><li>Maintain a clean and well-maintained bus interior, including regular cleaning and reporting any maintenance or repair needs. </li><li>Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. </li><li>Report any accidents, incidents, or unusual circumstances to the appropriate authorities or supervisor. • Maintain accurate records of routes, passenger counts, and any incidents or delays. </li><li>Adhere to company policies and procedures, including punctuality and professional appearance. </li><li>Attend training sessions and meetings as required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Excellent knowledge of traffic rules and regulations. </li><li>Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with residents in a courteous and professional manner. </li><li>Ability to operate and maneuver large vehicles safely. </li><li>Good communication skills, both verbal and written. </li><li>Ability to follow instructions and adhere to schedules. </li><li>Ability to handle and resolve conflicts or difficult situations with passengers. </li><li>Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and ability to perform routine inspections. </li><li>Familiarity with local routes and destinations. </li><li>Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment. </li></ul> <p>Education, Training, Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED required. </li><li>Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for operating a bus. </li><li>Clean driving record with no major traffic violations. </li><li>Previous experience as a bus driver preferred. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. </li><li>Ability to climb stairs and assist passengers with boarding and disembarking. </li><li>Ability to lift up to 50 pounds for handling luggage or other items as required. </li><li>Good vision and hearing capabilities to ensure safe operation of the bus. </li></ul> <p>Resthaven's Mission Statement: To glorify God by providing a continuum of quality care and services that demonstrates the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.</p>
