<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Elementary School - Vocal Music Teacher - Parkwood Elementary - 2025-2026</p> <p>Pending BOE approval of staff member's resignation</p> <p>Position Purpose:</p> <p>To identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal and instrumental musical expression.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Develops and administers music education curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives. </li><li>Promotes a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small group instruction and student learning. </li><li>Develops balanced music program and lessons and organizes instructional time so that students have adequate time for performance preparation, rehearsal, and instruction. </li><li>Conducts ongoing assessment of student musical learning and progress and modifies instructional methods to fit the individual needs of students. </li><li>Utilizes repertoire of all types of music literature as appropriate. </li><li>Plans, coordinates rehearsals for and directs students in musical programs/performances outside of the classroom. </li><li>Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learning of current developments in the educational field by attending professional development, workshops, or department/district meetings, and/or by conducting research. </li><li>Keeps accurate and complete records regarding grading and attendance as required by district/building procedures/policies. </li><li>Encourages parental involvement in students' education and ensures effective communication with students and their parents/guardians. </li><li>Ensures that student behavior conforms to school/district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student conduct needed to achieve an effective learning environment. </li><li>Coordinates with other professional staff members, participates in faculty meetings, and attends professional development. </li><li>Selects appropriate learning materials/instructional tools consistent with district curriculum. </li></ul> <p>Additional Duties:</p> <ul> <li>Performs other related tasks as assigned by the principal(s). </li></ul> <p>Note: The above description is illustrative of tasks and responsibilities. It is not meant to be all-inclusive of every task or responsibility.</p> <p>Travel Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy as well as differentiated instruction based on student learning styles. </li><li>Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis and the formulation of action plans. </li><li>Ability to use computer network system and software applications. </li><li>Ability to organize and coordinate instruction. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with students and their parents/guardians. </li><li>Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth. </li><li>Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Missouri Vocal Music K-12 certification. </li></ul> <p>Education:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelors or Masters Degree from an accredited college or university. </li></ul> <p>FLSA Status: Exempt</p> <p>Position open until filled</p> <p>Candidates that have signed a contract for the 2025-26 school year need to check with their district prior to applying to ensure they can be released from their contract if they are recommended for the position.</p> <p>You are navigating off of REAP site to the district's posting.</p> <p>OK</p>
