<p>Job Title: Equestrian Hunter-Jumper Clinical Instructor</p> <p>Department: School of Equestrian Studies</p> <p>Reports To: Equestrian Studies Division Chair</p> <p>Job Type: This is a full time, exempt position.</p> <p>General Description:</p> <p>The Hunter/Jumper Clinical Instructor is responsible for teaching applied riding classes as well as applied theory classes. This position supervises the management and care of all horses used in the hunter/jumper program. The individual holding this position will have the responsibility of coaching William Woods' riders at local, regional, and national competitions.</p> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Teach hunter/jumper courses to William Woods University students</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Must be capable of teaching group lessons <p></p> </li><li> <p>Able to coach and assist WWU students at horse shows</p> </li><li> <p>Supervise and manage horses, tack, horse care, and related facilities</p> </li><li> <p>Serve as the faculty sponsor of the Hunter/Jumper Club (student organization)</p> </li><li> <p>Teach various horse related courses to William Woods University students including teaching and managing horses</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain the integrity of the hunter/jumper program at William Woods in the following ways:</p> </li><li> <p></p> </li><li>Assist with the leases of horses over the summer <p></p> </li><li> <p>Assess the suitability of horse donations and work with donors to secure horses that will strengthen the hunter/jumper string</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrate strong industry and alumni relations for future donations</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain a high visibility profile within the local and national community</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain equestrian community while competing with students and horses at competitions</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred </li><li>Show coaching and training experience at rated USEF competitions </li><li>Copy of college transcripts (official transcript required upon hiring) </li><li>Experience and ability to drive a truck and horse trailer </li><li>Class E driver's license or higher or intention to obtain this licensure </li><li>Must be able to adhere to the WWU vehicle policy </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule:</p> <ul> <li>Nine month contract </li><li>Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester </li><li>Position begins August 2015 </li></ul> <p>To apply please submit the following items to the Equestrian Studies Search Committee:</p> <ul> <li>Resume or curriculum vitae and cover letter </li><li>Copy of college transcripts </li><li>Statement of teaching philosophy </li></ul> <p>William Woods University is an independent institution chartered by the State of Missouri with main campus facilities in Fulton, MO.
