<p>Job Description:</p> <p>GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:</p> <p>The Centers for Early Childhood Education Lead Preschool Teacher-EEC Certification is responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Design, plan, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum integrated across the content areas to meet the needs of all children in a literacy-enriched, inclusive, culturally and linguistically responsive learning environment </li><li>Collaborate with co-teachers with planning and implementation of curriculum </li><li>Create and maintain a positive, enriched classroom environment to promote the learning and development of all children </li><li>Facilitate lessons and activities encouraging self-express and understanding of concepts through child-centered, hands-on experiences </li><li>Promote social-emotional learning and growth in all developmental domains </li><li>Use selected assessment and screening tools to measure and illustrate children's development and growth and share findings with parents </li><li>Establish and maintain communication with families </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION RECEIVED:</p> <ul> <li>Director of the Centers for Early Childhood Education and </li><li>Assistant Director in the Child Development Lab or Assistant Director in the Early Childhood Center </li></ul> <p>SUPERVISION EXERCISED:</p> <p>Child and Family Studies majors and students in related majors, and FSU student employees</p> <p>EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <p>The duties of the Centers for Early Childhood Education (CECE) Lead Preschool Teacher- MA Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Certification include, but are not limited to, the following:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, write, and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum based on teacher observations, knowledge of child development, individualized goals and learning for the children, and research-based, best practices for early childhood education </li><li>Co-teach with co-teacher(s) and other CECE staff </li><li>Collaborate with co-teacher(s) and other CECE staff to set-up and arrange the classroom with suitable and appropriate materials and supplies to meet the needs of the curriculum and abilities and interests of all child </li><li>Team up with other CECE staff to establish and maintain parent communication with weekly newsletters, emails, call-in hour(s), and other means as appropriate </li><li>Complete developmental screenings, assessments using selected tools, and anecdotal notes to measure and illustrate the children's growth and development in all developmental areas </li><li>Share observational, screening, and/or assessment information for the preparation of communication with parents at parent-teacher conferences at least two times per year or more often if necessary and with the CECE director </li><li>Assist early childhood education pre-practicum/field study students with assignments and supervise interns and work study students to develop and model positive classroom environment management and instructional strategies and techniques. </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <p>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education or related field </li><li>Hold or working towards Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Lead Preschool Teacher Certification </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Preference given to persons fluent in Spanish and English or Portuguese and English </li><li>Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Teacher License in Early Childhood Education </li><li>Masters of Education in early childhood, literacy and language, or special education </li></ul> <p>ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certificates </li><li>Undergo a background record check according to EEC regulations and policies </li></ul> <p>Additional Information:</p> <p>This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) bargaining unit with a union title of Staff Assistant.</p> <p>Benefits include health, dental, retirement, generous tuition remission, and leave packages</p> <p>The Centers for Early Childhood Education are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. year-round. The regular work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday and daily work hours may vary depending on classroom assignment. Working a few evenings for various family events during the school year will be required. This is a grant funded position. The salary range is $54,000 - $58,000 per year, contingent upon grant funding being secured through June 2027.</p> <p>Framingham State University conducts background record checks according to the Massachusetts Early Education and Care requirements, which include Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI), Department of Children and Families (DCF) checks relative to prior criminal convictions and pending cases, Sex Offender Registration Information (SORI) checks relative to prior sexual offenses committed as an adult or juvenile, and finger print checks prior to an offer of employment for all positions. Framingham State University requires specific written authorization to conduct background record checks.
