<p>ETL Developer - Mastery Level</p> <p>Wealth Management Technology</p> <p>Full-time, Hybrid, Springfield, MA</p> <p>The Opportunity</p> <p>We are seeking a Mastery-Level ETL Developer to lead the design, build, and optimization of scalable ELT/ETL pipelines that deliver business-critical data to the MassMutual Data Platform. This is a highly technical leadership role requiring hands-on experience with Informatica (IICS/IDMC), Python, advanced SQL, cloud data platforms, orchestration frameworks, and data governance. You will be a key contributor to MassMutual's next-generation data engineering ecosystem, ensuring performance, reliability, security, and future scalability.</p> <p>The Team</p> <p>The Wealth Management Technology Team is global with team members located in 3 countries. We support a complex and very dynamic business for product delivery, financial planning services, lending services, and investment operations. Our culture is grounded in quality and managing customer expectations.</p> <p>The Impact - Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Design and develop complex ELT/ETL pipelines using Informatica IICS/IDMC, Python, and SQL to extract, transform, and load data from relational databases, flat files, and APIs.</p> </li><li> <p>Translate high-level business requirements into detailed technical solutions and data workflows, Work very closely with both business and technical stakeholders.</p> </li><li> <p>Ingest and integrate data from disparate sources into centralized data lakes and data warehouses using cloud-native architecture.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensure data quality through robust cleansing, validation, and profiling techniques, including the implementation of custom and reusable validation rules.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement high-quality, cost-effective and sustainable solutions.</p> </li><li> <p>Implement best practices for performance tuning, error handling, failover recovery, job logging, and alerting mechanisms.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform Unit testing, system testing, and implementation support.</p> </li><li> <p>Guide and mentor junior team members in best practices for IICS/IDMC</p> </li><li> <p>Build reusable tools and components to accelerate pipeline development, streamline migration efforts, and improve maintainability.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in all phases of project planning, execution and testing, producing artifacts per SDLC audit requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with data engineers, data analysts, data scientists, and platform engineers to enable seamless data flow and pipeline observability.</p> </li><li> <p>Document technical specifications, data lineage, and transformation logic for audit, compliance, and handover purposes.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist other development teams, including application development, by supporting code reviews and/or development efforts</p> </li></ul> <p>The Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science or related technical field </li><li>8 + years of software engineering/development </li><li>5 + years of ETL/ELT development experience with Informatica (PowerCenter writing Unix shell scripts, IDMC) </li><li>2 + years of experience using IDMC </li><li>5 + years of advanced SQL experience on multiple DBMS technologies, such as MS SQL Server, Teradata, and Vertica, including performance tuning, window functions, CTEs, and indexing strategies </li><li>5 + years of experience developing ETL/ELT logic using Python (pandas, pySpark, data validation, transformation scripting) </li><li>3 + years of experience working with AWS Cloud, including S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, etc. </li><li>5 + years of experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Control-M, or Maestro (Dynamic Workload console </li></ul> <p>The Ideal Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Additional development experience in Java 17+, Spring Boot, Kafka, React.js, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub, and Jenkins </li><li>Experience with wealth management or financial services projects </li><li>Strong knowledge of architecture principles, development standards, and best practices </li><li>Advanced knowledge and experience with Data Governance and MDM technologies and methodologies </li><li>Experience data modelling in support of an enterprise data warehouse and custom application databases </li><li>Experience with data lake technologies such as Data Bricks </li><li>Experience maintaining and supporting business critical custom build applications </li><li>Experience maintaining and publishing standards and best practices with respect to DB architecture, design, naming, back-up, security, and usage </li><li>Designs and develops packages, stored procedures, functions, views, queries and other related jobs to facilitate application access to data </li><li>Knowledge and experience unit testing using test driven development </li><li>Assist in troubleshooting, analyzing, and optimizing DB performance issues </li><li>Can do attitude, with the ability to drive to success in both independent and group projects </li><li>Demonstrated experience and ability to deliver results quickly in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects </li><li>Ability to work with other IT groups and business users </li><li>Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders </li><li>Strong problem-solving,
