From academic programs in sports and recreation management to homeland security/terrorism, communication, and management, TU offers more than 40 majors through on-campus and online learning, resulting in real advantages for our students.</p> <p>GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION</p> <p>The Institute of Creative & Media Arts is seeking a qualified full-time seated faculty member with an open rank (Assistant/Associate/Full Professor) to teach courses in two or more of the following areas: Commercial Voice, Commercial Music Theory, Popular/Jazz/Gospel Keyboard, Songwriting, and Arranging. Other responsibilities may include directing a traditional choir, pop or jazz vocal group, or a gospel music ensemble. This position will begin in August 2025 and is a full-time, benefits-eligible appointment.</p> <p>Requirements</p> <p>MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Teaching face-to-face classes and private music lessons at the undergraduate level in the Institute of Creative and Media Arts. Instruction areas may include Commercial Voice, Popular/Jazz/Gospel Keyboard, Commercial Music Theory, Songwriting, and Arranging. </li><li>Lead a commercial music, choral, or gospel music ensemble. </li><li>Demonstrate a commitment to working collaboratively and collegially in activities, projects, and programs that support program growth and student success. </li><li>Attend department, school, and university meetings, serving on university, school, and other committees as appointed. </li><li>Advise and mentor undergraduate students. </li><li>Supervise internships and individually guided studies. </li><li>Be responsible for other duties as assigned by the Dean. </li><li>Create and promote a positive and supportive work environment. </li><li>Demonstrate personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and unwavering commitment to Tiffin University's Guiding Principles. </li><li>Demonstrate excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills. </li><li>Demonstrate the ability to work with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES FOR THE JOB</p> <p>Education</p> <ul> <li>A master's degree in music is preferred. Candidates with extensive professional commercial music and music industry experience may also be considered. </li></ul> <p>Experience</p> <ul> <li>Required: Commercial or jazz or piano/keyboard teaching and performing experience, commercial or jazz voice teaching and performing experience. </li><li>Preferred: Experience teaching music theory, musicianship, and arranging, experience in recording studio production. </li></ul> <p>TIFFIN UNIVERSITY SPONSORED BENEFIT</p> <p>Tiffin University offers excellent benefits.
