<p>Kforce has a client in Greenwood Village, CO that is seeking a Scala Software Developer.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Design, implement, monitor, enhance and troubleshoot systems in assigned areas </li><li>Analyze, revise and document difficulties in existing system logic </li><li>Provide management with system analysis, feedback, and improvement recommendations </li><li>Work with software architects identifying and recommending design and requirements needed for software enhancements </li><li>Develop RESTful APIs for use by various front end/UI using Scala/Java/typescript technologies </li><li>Strong experience with any of these programing languages (Java, Python, Scala, Typescript) </li><li>Develop microservices using AWS </li><li>Take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects </li><li>Develop and implement software according to proposals </li><li>Estimate scope of work </li><li>Create project documentation </li><li>Implement software proposals </li><li>Serves as an escalation point to resolve incidents and problems for production applications and web services supported by the team in accordance with identified Service Level Objectives </li><li>Collaborates with internal customers, technical, and architecture teams to solve complex software problems </li><li>Influences system design by identifying and recommending design and requirements needs for software enhancements </li><li>Mentors and coaches less experienced staff </li><li>Participates in continuous performance improvement and root cause analysis sessions to discuss opportunities to improve processes, system reliability, and standards </li><li>Analyzes and resolves computer related problems by coordinating with in-house personnel to diagnose and fix operational issues, as well as consulting, advising and training on specialized features and functions </li><li>Implements internal automation systems, including code development* Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required </li><li>5+ years of experience with the following: Software Development methodologies, Architecture, Networking, or Systems Administration </li><li>Scala developer with Scalantra framework experience </li><li>Experience with Kafka, Redis, NoSQL database, Splunk is a plus </li><li>Ability to read, write, speak and understand English </li><li>Thorough understanding of software engineering and object-oriented design principles </li><li>Strong and current development experience in Java and web technologies </li><li>Ability to take ownership and make technical decisions on software development projects </li><li>Familiarity with dependency management and build systems like Maven and Ant </li><li>Experience working with open-source software such as Spring, Google Guice, Guava, Tomcat, and NoSQL solutions </li><li>Experience with Scala, Typescript, Java, Spring, JPA/Hibernate, Databases (Relational and NoSQL), RESTful web services, AWS, Micro services, Jersey, SOAP web services, Axis, JMS, ESB's, XML, XSD, XSL, JSON, HTML5, JavaScript, Apache open-source libraries, Maven, Git, Eclipse/NetBeans/IntelliJ, continuous integration testing, shell scripting </li><li>Strong experience with software security principles and patterns </li><li>Ability to collaborate with and contribute to a common culture of excellence </li><li>Hands-on experience with cloud solution providers AWS </li><li>Agile experience </li><li>Experience with AWS, micro services </li><li>Able to work in an office environment (4 days office, 1 day remote) </li></ul>
