<p>The Village of Lisle, IL (pop. 23,223), is seeking a strategic, collaborative and forward-thinking Assistant Village Manager who will serve as a key member of the leadership team. Lisle is a vibrant, non-home rule community located in Chicago's western suburbs with Aa1 bond rating from Moody's Investor Services, well-balanced revenue stream and a high quality of life. Growing with intention, Lisle is known as "The Arboretum Village," and is located along the prestigious I-88 Corporate Corridor just 26 miles west of Chicago's loop.</p> <p>The Village of Lisle has 96 full time employees. Village departments include the Village Manager's Office, Finance, Development Services, Public Works and Police. Staff members are encouraged to bring their whole selves to work while respecting their needs for a work-life balance. The successful candidate will bring energy and a drive for excellence to the organization. The new Assistant will report to the Village Manager.</p> <p>Serving as a key member of the leadership team working alongside the Village Manager, the new Assistant will advance Village Board priorities and ensure effective delivery of services. This position will have a primary focus on strengthening organizational performance and internal operations, and will lead communication initiatives, offer major project assistance, and support strategic policy implementation. A lead role will be taken in technology projects such as the selection of a new payroll vendor and execution of media strategy. Direct oversight will be provided to the Human Resources area, providing guidance and support to strengthen this important organizational function. Other position responsibilities will evolve over time, as this is considered a vital role in the organization that requires flexibility and the ability to be adjust to organizational needs and priorities.</p> <p>Qualified individuals will be expected to have:</p> <ul> <li>A minimum of five to seven years' progressively responsible municipal management, including at least three years of supervisory and executive leadership experience is required. </li><li>A bachelor's degree in public or business administration, political science, or closely related field, and a master's degree in public or business administration are required. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of municipal governance practices, state statutes, and local ordinances. </li><li>Broad experience in a municipality across a diverse range of municipal functions. </li><li>A collaborative and solutions-oriented leader with substantial experience in human resources administration, community engagement, community finance, budgeting, capital planning, and project management </li><li>An individual who can bring structure, accountability, and leadership during a transformative period of redevelopment and organizational growth. </li><li>A key member of the executive leadership team who also serves as an important link between the organization and the community; someone who can build and maintain strong working relationships with residents, business owners, developers, community stakeholders, and regional partners. </li><li>An individual with exceptional communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational execution and problem-solving skills. </li></ul> <p>Starting salary range is $130,735-183,029; anticipated hiring salary $156,000 DOQ. Residency is not required.
