Our management team is well-trained and maintains an open-door policy so our employees can ask questions and solve problems.</p> <p>A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HEAT ELIGIBILITY WORKER</p> <p>This position is responsible for determining client eligibility for HEAT utility and water assistance in accordance with Federal, State and Utah Community Action policies and procedures. This position provides quality services to customers, referring to outside agencies as needed and offering education in budgeting and energy-saving measures. Must monitor caseload regularly to ensure services are provided in a timely manner.</p> <p>May be assigned to assist in other program areas, such as editing and mentoring. As a representative of the agency, HEAT staff are responsible for providing exceptional customer service and advocating for clients using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach.</p> <p>COMPETENCIES FOR HEAT ELIGIBILITY WORKER</p> <ul> <li>Proficient with various internet and computer applications </li><li>Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to clients from all socio-economic, ethnic, and racial backgrounds </li><li>High level of confidentiality and accountability </li><li>Strong organizational and time management skills </li><li>Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team </li><li>Ability to use good judgment and problem-solve in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Open to feedback and willing to work towards the success of the team </li><li>Knowledge of community resources, agencies and referral procedures </li><li>Ability to work with community partners and represent the agency with professionalism </li><li>Excellent use of English, both spoken and written </li></ul> <p>REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, LICENSES</p> <ul> <li>High School Diploma or GED </li><li>MS Office experience </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree </li><li>Bachelor's Degree </li><li>Bilingual (Spanish or Arabic preferred) </li></ul> <p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p> <p>This job requires mobility and physical dexterity, and the ability to read, focus, organize, recall, and retain information.
