Calian solutions impact the world; from the satellites in space that connect us to the farms that feed us, from the medical professionals who care for us to the governments, schools, and companies that make the world better every day.</p> <p>Position Overview</p> <p>The IT Technician Entry Level will report directly to the Lead IT Technician to support day-to-day IT operations at our satellite teleport facility. This role is ideal for someone starting their IT career with a strong interest in networking, systems support, and hands-on troubleshooting in a mission-critical environment. The technician will assist in maintaining the site's IT infrastructure, including desktops, servers, and network hardware, ensuring continuous support for teleport operations.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Provide first-level support for hardware, software, and network-related issues. </li><li>Install, configure, and maintain PCs, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices. </li><li>Assist with the setup, monitoring, and maintenance of LAN/WAN infrastructure. </li><li>Troubleshoot connectivity issues and escalate when necessary. </li><li>Support basic server maintenance tasks (Windows/Linux environments). </li><li>Maintain accurate documentation of configurations, procedures, and IT assets. </li><li>Assist teleport engineering staff with IT-related integration of RF/telecom systems. </li><li>Respond to IT support tickets in a timely and professional manner. </li><li>Follow all security, safety, and operational protocols. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required</p> <ul> <li>Associate's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field or 2-4 years' experience in IT field. </li><li>Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and switching/routing concepts. </li><li>Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems. </li><li>Ability to troubleshoot common hardware/software issues. </li><li>Willingness to work in a physical/technical environment, including server rooms and outdoor equipment enclosures. </li><li>Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. </li><li>Self-motivated with a willingness to learn. </li></ul> <p>Preferred</p> <ul> <li>Hands-on experience in network administration or tech support. </li><li>Basic scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash). </li><li>IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or CCNA. </li><li>Exposure to satellite, RF, or telecom environments. </li></ul> <p>Additional Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and work around RF equipment. </li><li>Requires occasional evening/weekend support depending on operational needs. </li></ul> <p>Calian is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic protected by law.</p> <p>#LI-CH1#</p>
