<p>Position Type:</p> <p>Paraprofessional/Media Paraprofessional</p> <p>Date Posted:</p> <p>8/21/2025</p> <p>Location:</p> <p>HOBEN ELEMENTARY</p> <p>Closing Date:</p> <p>Until Filled</p> <p>District:</p> <p>  Plymouth-Canton Community Schools  Additional Information: Show/Hide</p> <p>POSITION: Elementary Media Paraprofessional</p> <p>LOCATION: Hoben Elementary School</p> <p>HOURS: 37.5 hours per week</p> <p>Monday - Friday</p> <p>8:30am - 4:30pm</p> <p>JOB OVERVIEW:</p> <p>The Elementary Media Paraprofessional provides media center and technology support, including troubleshooting issues with student/staff-assigned devices.QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>1.High School graduate or equivalent</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills</p> </li><li> <p>Working knowledge of general equipment (computer, copy machine, fax etc.)</p> </li><li> <p>Demonstrated ability with keyboarding, computer software, and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Technological or computer training/experience</p> </li><li> <p>Wiliness to become acquainted with children's literature</p> </li><li> <p>Good organizational skills and ability to be self-directed</p> </li><li> <p>Good rapport with young children</p> </li><li> <p>Enjoy working with elementary age children including the ability to interact with them in a respectful manner.</p> </li><li> <p>Experience in school library preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work well with others.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to manage projects and collaboratively implement procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Able to walk throughout a building and among buildings and lift up to 35 pounds.</p> </li><li> <p>Good attendance record.</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to engage positively and professionally with K-12 students</p> </li></ol> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Assists media specialist with clerical and other office assignments.</p> </li><li> <p>Functions under direction of media specialist to coordinate appropriate tasks and facilitate student services/activities through regular media specials classes.</p> </li><li> <p>Operates, when applicable, audio-visual equipment, office, duplicating, or computer equipment used in teaching program for the production of printed or other audio-visual instructional materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains student device inventory for all assigned student devices</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for distribution and collection of district devices to students</p> </li><li> <p>Duplicates, collates, faxes, and distributes correspondence.</p> </li><li> <p>Places/receives telephone calls, records messages and forwards calls to appropriate individuals.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains files of information and records.</p> </li><li> <p>Applies established circulation and storage procedures to all library media hardware and software.</p> </li><li> <p>Types or generates reports, orders, bibliographies, lists, indexes, and notices as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist with information retrieval systems and other technical systems and equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Troubleshoot technical malfunctions under the supervision of the media specialist</p> </li><li> <p>Performs routine maintenance of technological equipment under the direction of the media specialist.</p> </li><li> <p>Participates in and supports training and in-service activities.</p> </li><li> <p>May support student supervision.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides clinic/first aid/medication support to students.</p> </li><li> <p>Bending, lifting an overhead work required.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists with other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ol> <p>This description is intended to describe the essential job functions, the general supplemental functions and the essential requirements for the performance of this job. Occasionally the employee will bend or twist at the neck more than the average person. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs such as boxes of books. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people.
