Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.</p> <p>Company: Cobb</p> <p>Location: Tennessee Hatchery, Lafayette, TN</p> <p>Schedule: Monday-Thursday and every other Friday</p> <p>Hours: Shift begins at 4:00 am until the job is complete. This position averages 40 hours per week includes working holidays . Responsibilities may require an adjusted work schedule.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <ul> <li>This position is responsible for the set-up, cleaning, storage, maintenance and operation of 7 Nova-Tech chick processing robots, toe trimmers and processing chicks. Other duties may be assigned. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Experience: 6 months related experience preferred. </li></ul> <p>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Set-up 4 day one robots, 3 by-product robots each morning for processing chicks in a timely manner (10%). </li><li>Preventative maintenance and cleaning robots (15%) </li><li>Communicate with robot operators to ensure proper function of equipment (10%). </li><li>Troubleshoot robots for potential problems (10%). </li><li>Performs toe trim for identification purposes if required and dub/mark male birds per customer order. (5%) </li><li>Grade newly hatched chicks for defects. (10%) </li><li>Operate robot to vaccinate, beak treat birds per customer order. (10%) </li><li>Transfer chicks from boxes to grading wheel. (5%) </li><li>Must be able to read, write, perform simple math and record data while completing paperwork for all scheduled maintenance (10%). </li><li>Take daily plate samples (10%). </li></ul> <p>Other Duties, Responsibilities and Activities</p> <ul> <li>Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. Such as: Ensure needles and vaccine lines are the correct length and are set correctly. Help clean equipment at the end of the day. Properly euthanize weak/ill chicks in accordance with company policy, despur male birds according to customer order. Stacks and moves boxes of processed chicks. Processes chicks and runs robots. Occasionally operate a high pressure and regular water hose, maintain a clean and organized work area, wash robot parts. Occasionally be required to pull/push loaded wheeled cart weighing 500 to 1000 pounds. (5%). </li></ul> <p>Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements/Safety</p> <ul> <li>The jobsite is a biosecure environment which requires showering, changing clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwear are provided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except for medical ID jewelry and body piercings covered by appropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines. </li></ul> <p>Physical Demands and Work Environment</p> <p>The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.</p> <ul> <li>Physical: Must use safe lifting techniques. Must occasionally lift/stack boxes of chicks weighing up to 15-17 pounds. Must regularly push/pull a stack of 10 boxes of chicks on a wheeled dolly weighing up to approximately 150-170 pounds. Must be able to bend to pick up boxes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop; talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus. Must have good communication skills to accurately convey opinions and concerns. </li><li>Tools and Equipment: PSP, MPSP, Toe Trimming Machine, Snippers, High Pressure Hose, Water Hose, Calibration Kit </li><li>Environment: Required to work on wet, slippery surfaces and also in hot, dry, dusty, wet and cold environments. </li><li>Personal Protective Equipment Required: Ear plugs will be used as needed. NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed. When using chemicals this position will be required to use: safety goggles, chemical gloves, waterproof apron and rubber boots. Safety glasses are required. </li><li>Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectants. </li><li>Safety: Will be trained to recognize and comply with all safety policies. Team member is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include, but are not limited to Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.
