<p>Job Description:</p> <p>he High School Comprehensive Learning Center Paraeducator supports students with diverse learning needs. This role involves providing academic, behavioral, and functional life skills support to ensure student success in the least restrictive environment. The paraeducator will collaborate with special education and general education staff to implement accommodations, modifications, and individualized student goals.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>ParaPro Certificate or Associate's Degree required.</p> <p>Prompt, reliable, dependable candidate with good oral and written communication skills.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Provide academic, behavioral, and personal care support to students with complex learning needs </li><li>Implement instructional strategies and accommodations as directed by the special education teacher and related service providers </li><li>Assist with daily living skills such as feeding, toileting, and hygiene routines, as needed </li><li>Support students in inclusion settings, vocational programs, and community-based instruction </li><li>Promote student independence and social-emotional growth through structured support </li><li>Collect data and document student progress </li><li>Collaborate with classroom teachers, therapists, and families to support individual learning plans </li><li>Assist with behavior intervention plans under the guidance of a BCBA or special education teacher </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate's degree or passing score on ParaPro Exam required </li><li>Experience working with students with disabilities, especially those with intensive needs </li><li>Ability to lift and physically support students as needed </li><li>Strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to equity and inclusion </li></ul> <p>To Apply: Click Here</p> <p>FSLA Non-Exempt</p> <p>The Derby Board of Education (the "Board") will not make employment decisions (including decisions related to hiring, assignment, compensation, promotion, demotion, disciplinary action and termination) on the basis of race, color, religion, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, national origin, alienage, ancestry, disability, pregnancy, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, status as a victim of domestic violence, or any other basis prohibited by state or federal law ("Protected Class"), except in the case of a bona fide occupational qualification.</p>
