Combined we have over 20,000 multidisciplinary professionals worldwide collaborating daily to protect and conserve natural landscapes, create firm foundations for communities to stand on, and champion sustainable development to combat climate change.</p> <p>As part of the team, you will have access to an unparalleled network of resources and endless opportunities to collaborate on exciting projects with diverse teammates from across the globe.</p> <p>This Opportunity</p> <p>Our Site Investigation and Remediation team is seeking a full-time Early Career Hydrogeologist to work out of our Shelton, CT office.</p> <p>This successful candidate in this role will take part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of site investigation and remediation projects in the public and private sector.?Tasks may include basic assistance with the research, investigation, design, concept development, and construction of site remediation, groundwater treatment, site restoration, and ongoing site management.?Generates accurate and concise documentation regarding assigned aspects of the project.?Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, safety, and functionality.</p> <p>Your Impact</p> <ul> <li>Work and communicate effectively within a team of geologists, engineers, and other scientists to collaboratively address environmental issues. </li><li>Oversee and log the installation of soil boreholes and groundwater monitoring wells. </li><li>Perform multimedia environmental sampling and interpret the results. </li><li>Supervise subcontractors performing drilling, surveying, waste removal, etc. </li><li>Prepare work plans for site investigation. </li><li>Plan, implement, and analyze hydrogeologic investigations including slug and pump tests, and use appropriate processing software. </li><li>Support report preparation including writing text, organizing and presenting data, and providing quality control for data. </li><li>Comply with safety guidelines and site-specific procedures. </li><li>Complete training on assigned tasks. </li><li>Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. </li><li>Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. </li><li>Relocation assistance is not available for this position. </li></ul> <p>Who You Are</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related discipline. </li><li>0 to 1 year experience, including relevant internship experience. </li><li>Strong interpersonal communication, organizational, analytical, and technical writing skills. </li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel). </li><li>Must be able to pass a HAZWOPER physical and be medically able to wear a tight-fitting respirator. </li><li>Ability to abide by WSP's health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. </li><li>Excellent research skills with analytical mindset. </li><li>Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. </li><li>Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment. </li><li>Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives. </li><li>Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools. </li><li>Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. </li><li>Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or a closely related discipline. </li><li>Completed OSHA HAZWOPER?40-hour training. </li><li>Practical use of modelling and/or visualization software. </li><li>Experience with databases. </li><li>Knowledge of state and federal environmental regulations. </li></ul> <p>#LI-AB2</p>
