The Technician I - Telecom is responsible for identifying underground utilities, construction oversight, general building maintenance, and reporting.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Provide support for building inspections and maintenance of systems including but not limited to; 48VDC, UPS, HVAC and GenSet </li><li>Utilize working knowledge of installation standards and procedures for fiber optic distribution panels </li><li>General maintenance includes housekeeping, weed-whacking, snow removal, etc. </li><li>Observe active construction work and protect existing facilities through routine cable route surveillance </li><li>Coordinate meetings with ROW owners to assess actual and/or potential conflicts with the company's fiber infrastructure; work with other team members to design a modified route, if necessary </li><li>Perform routine inspections </li><li>May be required to be on-call (24X7) on a rotating schedule for network emergencies </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalency </li><li>Valid driver's license, if driving a company or customer-owned vehicle </li><li>Minimum of two (2) years of work experience with telecommunications systems </li><li>Ability to read, analyze, and interpret engineering and construction drawings and specifications, common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and other documents </li><li>Communicate effectively in both oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports </li><li>Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions </li><li>Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables </li></ul> <p>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in construction, telecommunications network maintenance, electrical work, security systems, and/or fiber optic splicing and testing </li><li>College degree in information technology, engineering, or related field of study </li></ul> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <ul> <li>Medical, dental, vision, basic life, AD&D, and disability insurance </li><li>Enrollment in our company's 401(k)plan, subject to eligibility requirements </li><li>Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days </li><li>Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly.
