<p>POSITION: Assistant Superintendent Communications & Federal Programs</p> <p>SALARY SCHEDULE: State Salary Schedule & Supplement</p> <p>REPORTS TO: Superintendent</p> <p>CONTRACT TERMS: 230 Days</p> <p>SUMMARY: The Assistant Superintendent is responsible for the effective administration and advancement of the Mitchell County School System. This position involves direct supervision of Communications, Federal Programs, and Student Services, as well as developing strategic communication plans and overseeing district marketing. The Assistant Superintendent also manages federal program compliance, ensures strategic plan implementation, cultivates community partnerships, and serves as a key advisor to the Superintendent.</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Clear, valid renewable Georgia certification in Educational Leadership Tier 2 or enrolled in a Tier 2 Program.</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of a Master's degree</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of five years teaching experience</p> </li><li> <p>Firm understanding of Federal Programs</p> </li><li> <p>Broad Knowledge of Teaching & Learning to include MTSS</p> </li><li> <p>Broad understanding of budgetary processes & procedures as it relates to Federal Programs</p> </li><li> <p>Required experience as a building level Administrator</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication and organizational skills</p> </li><li> <p>Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may deem acceptable and appropriate</p> </li></ol> <p>JOB DUTIES:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Directly responsible for district administration in the absence of the Superintendent.</p> </li><li> <p>Supervises & evaluates school district departments to include Communications, Federal Programs, Student Services, and Social Work.</p> </li><li> <p>Assists Superintendent in developing a strategic communication plan for the district.</p> </li><li> <p>Provides high-quality communications and marketing that effectively promotes the Mitchell County School System (District) and its services; includes social media platforms.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends school board meetings and other district-wide & community events to promote and share information with the public.</p> </li><li> <p>Ensures that strategic plan actions are completed at various levels to achieve desired organizational goals and initiatives.</p> </li><li> <p>Consults with the Superintendent on matters regarding assigned functions/departments.</p> </li><li> <p>Keeps the superintendent informed of and in compliance with state and district policies.</p> </li><li> <p>Oversees the review and revision of essential federal program documents, including:</p> </li></ol> <p>LEA/School Combined Family Engagement Plan</p> <p>Comprehensive LEA Implementation Plan (CLIP) and CLIP Monitoring</p> <p>School Improvement Plans Review and Revisions</p> <p>Title I, Part C Identification & Recruitment Plan and Implementation Plan</p> <p>Other required planning documents for federal funding and grants</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Supervise assigned federal program staff, including Parent & Family Engagement Coordinators, ESOL Teachers, Title IC Migrant Staff, and other personnel.</p> </li><li> <p>Conduct meetings with school-level liaisons and attend school-level parent meetings.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist local school administrators and planning teams in meeting all Title IA Schoolwide and Title IA Plan requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>With the respective directors, principals and other personnel, provides leadership for the following programs: School Counseling, Wrap Around Services, School Social Work, Student Records, Nursing, Attendance and other assigned areas</p> </li><li> <p>Establish partnerships with various local offices and community agencies that may provide specialized or professional help to stakeholders (MH Services, DFCS, County Health Department, Homeless Shelters, Collaboration with different school systems, & other businesses).</p> </li><li> <p>Performs other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.</p> </li></ol> <p>The Board of Education and the Superintendent may accept alternatives to some of the above requirements.</p>
