<p>Hiring Department</p> <p>Cashiers Office</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>This position involves direct interaction with students, providing assistance, guidance, and support to ensure a positive experience. Responsibilities include evaluating student accounts by reviewing, analyzing, and processing financial and account data. The role also involves processing student payments, including in-person and mailed payments. The position requires excellent customer service skills, a thorough understanding of university policies and procedures, and the ability to respond effectively to a variety of student inquiries.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Serve as the first point of contact for students, parents, and visitors both in person and over the phone. </li><li>Provide exceptional customer service while creating a welcoming environment for students and visitors. </li><li>Direct students to appropriate departments or campus resources as needed. </li><li>Maintain a strong understanding of financial aid processes, including FAFSA. </li><li>Advise current and prospective students and their families on financial aid and student account matters. </li><li>Process student payments received in person and through the mail. </li><li>Provide accurate information regarding university policies, procedures, and services. </li><li>Address student concerns, complaints, or account issues and provide timely and effective resolutions. </li><li>Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department or supervisor when necessary. </li><li>Maintain clear, professional communication with students, faculty, and staff. </li><li>Ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping of student interactions, requests, and outcomes. </li></ul> <p>Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. The University will not sponsor applicants for this position for employment visas.</p> <p>Shift</p> <p>8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday - Friday with some extended hours during peak volume times</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Strong verbal and written communication skills </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment </li><li>Proficiency with office software and student information management systems </li><li>Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills </li><li>Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills </li></ul> <p>Anticipated Hiring Range</p> <p>Salary Range: $17.05 - $23.37 per hour</p> <p>Grade: GGS-007</p> <p>University Title: Student Support Specialist II</p> <p>Internal applicants can determine their University title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.</p> <p>Application Materials</p> <ul> <li>Application materials include a cover letter and resume.
