This role provides excellent customer service while assisting with cashiering, merchandising, stocking, and maintaining sales floor presentation across a variety of departments including hard goods, soft goods, licensed products, convenience store items, gifts, and school and office supplies.</p> <p>This position is designed as a cross-functional role that rotates regularly through various departments and responsibilities based on operational needs. Learn more about our mission and values here www.store.utah.edu</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Deliver outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly and professional manner </li><li>Answer questions regarding products, pricing, promotions, and store policies </li><li>Resolve customer concerns or escalate issues appropriately </li><li>Operate cash registers and point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently </li><li>Process cash, credit, debit, and mobile payments </li><li>Handle returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policy </li><li>Balance cash drawers and maintain register accuracy </li><li>Assist customers in locating merchandise across multiple departments </li><li>Maintain product knowledge for hard goods, soft goods, licensed merchandise, convenience store items, gifts, and school and office supplies </li><li>Ensure merchandise is properly stocked, faced, signed, and displayed </li><li>Support promotional setups and seasonal merchandising changes </li><li>Rotate between departments and assignments as scheduled to support store operations and business needs </li><li>Receive, unpack, stock, and replenish merchandise as needed </li><li>Maintain backroom organization and cleanliness </li><li>Assist with inventory counts and loss prevention practices </li><li>Monitor product quality and report damaged or low-stock items </li><li>Support store operations during high-traffic events and peak business periods </li><li>Participate in game day operations and special event coverage </li><li>Required to work all home football games as part of scheduled event support responsibilities </li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout assigned areas </li><li>Follow all safety, security, and operational procedures </li><li>Support store opening, closing, and recovery tasks </li><li>Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet store goals </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <p>Must be a current University of Utah student.</p> <p>Preferences</p> <ul> <li>Flexible and cross-functional mindset </li><li>Positive attitude and strong work ethic </li><li>Attention to detail and organizational skills </li><li>Willingness to learn multiple store functions and departments </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions Summary Additional Information</p> <p>The University is a participating employer with Utah Retirement Systems ("URS").
