Imagine loving what you do and where you do it.</p> <p>Compensation Overview</p> <p>The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.</p> <p>Salary Range</p> <p>$53,700.00 - $88,600.00</p> <p>Target Openings</p> <p>1</p> <p>What Is the Opportunity?</p> <p>Travelers' financial analysis team translates raw numbers into actionable insights to tell the story of past financial results and forecast possibilities into the future. The team acts as an independent party to collaborate with business partners and enable them to make informed decisions rooted in economic reality.</p> <p>As a Financial Analyst, you will prepare, evaluate, validate, and package financial reports for an assigned business area and begin to conduct less complex analyses with manager guidance. You will be responsible for preparing and reviewing control reports and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies. You will play a key role in implementing financial controls to mitigate inherent risks.</p> <p>What Will You Do?</p> <ul> <li>Prepare, evaluate, and validate less complex financial and operational reports. </li><li>With supervision, analyze, interpret, and validate trends and variances in business performance, while interacting with cross functional peers on limited basis. </li><li>Synthesize and present exhibits, results, and observations to direct manager and team members. </li><li>Under guidance support your financial partners in the preparation of analyses to support business strategy. </li><li>Complete and prepare components of external financial statements and including, but not limited to GAAP(Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), SEC and STAT (Statutory Accounting Principles). </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. </li><li>Basic knowledge of Financial Analysis concepts and processes, and accounting practices and principles. </li><li>Control Execution: Evaluate compliance with financial and operational standards, including Sarbanes-Oxley. </li><li>Partnership and Collaboration: Collaborate with team members to analyze workflows and recommend control improvements. </li><li>Communication Skills: Utilize strong communication skills to effectively convey findings and recommendations. </li><li>Problem-Solving: Apply problem-solving skills to identify control gaps and develop effective solutions. </li><li>Begin to leverage analytical skills access and gather data, including a basic understanding of what the data represents. </li><li>Time management/ prioritization skills and ability to solve problems and make recommendations. </li><li>Takes responsibility for decisions and actions. </li><li>Ability to identify customers needs and take appropriate actions while working within tight timeframes and deadlines. </li><li>Experience using Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and Financial Reporting Software (e.g., TM1, Essbase, Hyperion, etc.). </li></ul> <p>What is a Must Have?</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, related degree or equivalent experience. </li></ul> <p>What Is in It for You?</p> <ul> <li>Health Insurance: Employees and their eligible family members - including spouses, domestic partners, and children - are eligible for coverage from the first day of employment. </li><li>Retirement: Travelers matches your 401(k) contributions dollar-for-dollar up to your first 5% of eligible pay, subject to an annual maximum.
