To provide general maintenance support for the District.</p> <p>Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Installs, maintains and repairs water and sanitary systems, sittings, and fixtures </li><li>Cuts openings in walls for pipes; cuts, reams and threads pipe; caulk and wipes joints; pours, spreads, and shapes molten solder over joints; and installs necessary supports, hangers, and foundations for water and sanitary equipment </li><li>Repairs and reconditions plumbing installations such as sinks, dishwashers, lavatories, sump pumps, and water waste and vent-lines </li><li>Installs, maintains, repairs and troubleshoot water and sewer systems from curb lines to building interiors as well as on boilers, chiller and rooftop A/C units </li><li>Successful completion of a background check by Human Resources </li><li>Perform other job-related duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>Requires a St. Louis County Plumbing License </li><li>Minimum of six (6) years of Journeyman level plumbing experience </li><li>Graduation from a general or technical high school </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <ul> <li>Considerable knowledge of the standard practices, methods, tools and equipment of the plumbing trade. </li><li>Knowledge of the hazards and safety precaution of the plumbing trade </li><li>Ability to work from sketches and specifications </li><li>Ability to observe safety precautions in carrying out assigned tasks </li><li>Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions </li><li>Skilled in the use of the tools and equipment of the plumbing trade </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Must be physically able to operate a motor vehicle </li><li>Have a valid driver's license </li><li>Sitting, Standing, Walking, Climbing, Balancing, Stooping or Crouching, Kneeling, Crawling, Reaching, Pushing, Grasping, Talking, Hearing </li><li>Clarity of vision at 20 inches or less </li><li>Medium work - exert up to 25 to 70 pounds of force often to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. </li><li>Physical strength and agility sufficient enough to do assigned tasks </li><li>Light Work usually requires walking or standing to a signification degree; on feet 7 out of 8 hours per day </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions and Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Work is routinely performed in a typical interior/office environment </li><li>Will have limited or extreme exposure to physical risk </li></ul> <p>Disclaimer:</p> <p>The information contained in this job description is for compliance with the Americans with</p> <p>Disabilities Act (ADA) and is not an exhaustive list of the duties performed for this position</p> <p>Additional duties are performed by the individuals currently holding this position and additional duties</p> <p>may be assigned</p> <p>TERM OF EMPLOYMENT:</p> <p>Year: 12 Month</p> <p>Salary: Scale 2 Range on the District Maintenance Salary Schedule</p>
