This position is responsible for promoting skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and character growth. The Assistant Coach helps foster a positive team environment where athletes are supported on and off the field.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Assist in organizing and leading practices, games, and team events </li><li>Support individual and team skill development </li><li>Provide supervision and mentorship to student-athletes </li><li>Help coordinate game-day logistics, equipment, and uniforms </li><li>Promote positive behavior, sportsmanship, and academic accountability </li><li>Communicate effectively with players, families, and school staff </li><li>Adhere to MSHSAA and district policies and procedures </li></ul> <p>Job Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategies, and safety protocols </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills </li><li>Ability to build strong relationships with students and families </li><li>Must meet MSHSAA coaching requirements </li><li>Previous coaching or playing experience preferred </li><li>CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) </li></ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul> <li>Practices and games held on weekday afternoons/evenings and some weekends </li><li>Outdoor and indoor environments depending on weather </li><li>Travel required for away games </li></ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required </li><li>Bachelor's degree and/or teaching certificate preferred, but not required </li><li>Experience working with high school students is strongly preferred </li></ul> <p>We look forward to receiving your application and potentially welcoming you to the Francis Howell School District team!</p>
