<p>Lorain County JVS is a Career and Technical Education Training Center. It consists of a public high school for students in grades 9-12 and the Adult Career Center, which offers training and educational opportunities for adults.</p> <p>STARTING DATE:</p> <p>August 2026</p> <p>SALARY:</p> <p>Appropriate step on Teachers Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education.</p> <p>REPORTS TO:</p> <p>Assigned Supervisor/Principal</p> <p>BENEFITS:</p> <p>Hospitalization, dental, vision, prescription, and term life insurance; up to three approved personal leave days per year; sick leave; tuition reimbursement and professional development opportunities.</p> <p>WORK WEEK/YEAR:</p> <p>185 days + 5 days extended time (Year 1 only)</p> <p>MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:</p> <p>Hold current Ohio Career technical Workforce Development Educator License in Industrial Power Technology A1 OR minimum 5 years work experience in the field of Industrial Equipment Mechanics that will lead to securing instructor license issued by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce.</p> <p>Willingness to obtain school van driver's license</p> <p>Documentation of a clear criminal record (BCI/FBI)</p> <p>Ability/willingness to stay on track with the required coursework leading to the required licensure</p> <p>Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing</p> <p>Proven technology related skills</p> <p>Ability to multi-task in a changing environment</p> <p>Sincere interest and commitment to work with students, parents, staff, businesses, community organizations, and associate schools</p> <p>Ability to work with students having a wide range of abilities and skill levels</p> <p>Team player - willingness to work effectively in a team environment</p> <p>Desire to motivate and assist young people in setting educational, social and behavioral goals</p> <p>DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Associate's Degree / Bachelor's Degree or ability to obtain</p> <p>Prior experience teaching a similar successful program</p> <p>Prior experience with FFA/CTSO</p> <p>Proven ability to develop curriculum</p> <p>Knowledge of instructional techniques</p> <p>Demonstrated experience in leadership</p> <p>Prior experience working with high school age students</p>
