This role provides executive oversight from preconstruction through closeout, serving as the primary client advocate while leading high-performing project teams, driving operational excellence, and supporting strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep experience delivering healthcare-sector projects, strong financial and risk management acumen, and the leadership presence to build trusted relationships with owners, partners, and internal teams.</p> <p>Core Responsibilities</p> <p>Work Product Creation, Project Management, Coordination with Team Members</p> <ul> <li>Maintain executive responsibility for the performance of assigned construction programs and projects, including revenue generation, profitability, utilization, and overall financial outcomes. </li><li>Partner with senior leadership to meet or exceed annual business plans and budget targets for assigned markets, programs, or practice areas. </li><li>Serve as a senior leader in business development by identifying new opportunities, leading pursuits, supporting proposal strategy, and participating in client interviews and negotiations. </li><li>Build, maintain, and expand long-term relationships with owners, developers, and key stakeholders; identify opportunities to expand services and grow accounts. </li><li>Represent the firm with current and prospective clients and at industry events, reinforcing the firm's reputation for quality, integrity, and execution excellence. </li><li>Identify emerging market opportunities and delivery trends and communicate insights to executive leadership for strategic consideration. </li><li>Lead and align project teams around clear objectives and key results (OKRs), ensuring accountability and performance across all levels. </li><li>Participate in executive-level staffing and resource planning decisions to support current and future project demands. </li><li>Travel as required to support project, client, and business development needs. </li></ul> <p>Operations</p> <ul> <li>Provide executive oversight of construction projects to ensure delivery in accordance with contract requirements, schedule commitments, budgets, and quality standards. </li><li>Act as the senior client representative, accountable for client satisfaction and rapid resolution of project, operational, or performance issues. </li><li>Monitor and manage project and program financial performance, including cost control, forecasting, utilization, and accounts receivable. </li><li>Establish and enforce quality control standards for construction delivery, documentation, and reporting. </li><li>Proactively identify project risks and challenges and escalate appropriately while driving timely, effective solutions. </li><li>Ensure all project operations comply with applicable local, state, and federal regulations, safety standards, and company policies. </li><li>Foster collaboration across internal teams, consultants, subcontractors, and partners to deliver successful project outcomes. </li><li>Support and implement strategic initiatives that advance the firm's operational excellence and growth objectives. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications & Competencies</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree and 12 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 8 years of related experience. </li><li>Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop project leaders and multidisciplinary teams. </li><li>Strong executive presence with excellent written and verbal communication skills. </li></ul> <p>Knowledge & Skills</p> <ul> <li>Deep understanding of construction project delivery, contract administration, budgeting, scheduling, and cost control. </li><li>Expertise in managing large, complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. </li><li>Strong working knowledge of construction methods, materials, codes, and regulatory requirements. </li><li>Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and construction financial systems, as well as standard business software. </li><li>Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. </li><li>High emotional intelligence and the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with owners, partners, and internal teams. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced, high-accountability environments. </li></ul> <p>Additional Information</p> <p>At VERTEX, we invest in top talent with a highly competitive total compensation package designed to reward performance and support long-term success.
