<p>POSITION TITLE: Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life</p> <p>COMPENSATION RANGE: 51,500.00 - 51,500.00 USD per year</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Professional Administrative</p> <p>DEPARTMENT: UPC Admin Operations</p> <p>TARGET HIRE DATE: 8/1/2025</p> <p>BENEFITS: UNC's Career Hub</p> <p>To ensure full consideration, applications must be received by 11:59pm (MT) on 06/30/2025.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>The Coordinator of Fraternity and Sorority Life provides comprehensive support to the fraternity and sorority community at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC). This position advises the Interfraternity Council (IFC), Panhellenic Council, Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), and National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), focusing on leadership development, recruitment, retention, and risk management. The Coordinator collaborates with various university departments and stakeholders to enhance student experience and ensure the successful operation of Fraternity and Sorority Life (FSL) at UNC.</p> <p>This position is designed to provide overall support, training, and management of UNC's Greek life and registered Clubs and Organizations. This position will facilitate organizational development Organizations through the RSO recognition process, RSO funding process, RSO Officer training, Advisor support, program/event management. Additionally, this role serves as the main point of contact for the Engage student organization engagement platform. This position is responsible for risk management, fiscal management, facilities management and student development while providing leadership and direction for club and organizations in a capacity that is designed to provide positive experiences for students.</p> <p>Staff members within the Division of Student Affairs are expected to positively contribute to our mission of supporting students in the co-curricular environment and provide an experience that inspires students academically, intellectually, personally, and emotionally. With the diversity of our students in mind, we use a career readiness approach and social justice framework while fostering a culture and climate of care.</p> <p>Job Duties:</p> <p>40% Advising and Leadership Development</p> <ul> <li>Provide direct advising to IFC, Panhellenic, MGC, and NPHC councils and individual chapters. </li><li>Develop and implement leadership training programs for chapter officers, council executive boards, and emerging leaders. </li><li>Support students in goal setting, conflict resolution, and personal/professional development. </li><li>Assist councils and chapters in planning and executing recruitment and intake processes. </li><li>Develop strategies and initiatives focused on retention of members. </li><li>Work with the Director to ensure recruitment aligns with university policies and FSL best practices. </li></ul> <p>20% Event Planning & Implementation</p> <ul> <li>Plan and oversee FSL-wide events, including Greek Week, Homecoming, leadership retreats, officer training, and recruitment activities. </li><li>Work with student leaders to ensure events are well-organized, inclusive, and mission aligned. </li><li>Serve as a resource for chapters and councils in event planning, risk mitigation, and logistics coordination. </li><li>Work closely with departments such as Student Affairs, Athletics, Conference & Events, the Budget Office, and Alumni Relations to enhance the fraternity and sorority experience. </li><li>Develop and maintain relationships with national fraternity and sorority headquarters and local alumni. </li><li>Represent FSL on university committees as needed. </li><li>Create an inclusive environment that responds to today's students and helps make recognized Student Organizations welcoming spaces where all students can find an organization in which to participate. </li><li>Facilitate the planning, recruitment, marketing, and implementation of the Student Involvement Fair. </li><li>Creates, maintains, and enforces all standards and policies for participants regarding eligibility and conduct. </li></ul> <p>20% Risk Management & Policy Enforcement</p> <ul> <li>Partner with the Dean of Students Office to develop and facilitate risk management training for chapter leadership and members. </li><li>Educate students on university policies, national organization risk management guidelines, and harm reduction strategies. </li><li>Support the enforcement of risk management policies through proactive education and intervention. </li><li>Maintain collaborative partnerships with on campus, community, prospective students, and other university representatives by information sharing, outreach, recruitment, enrollment, retention and mentoring activities. </li><li>Stay abreast of current state and federal statutes, laws, and UNC (University of Northern Colorado) (University of Northern Colorado) policies which pertain to the management, support, coordination, and accountability processes for Student Organizations. </li><li>Plans and coordinates the scheduling of all shared facilities with other staff and departments. </li><li>Develops and implements a Risk Management Plan for clubs and organizations.. </li></ul> <p>20% Personnel and Fiscal Management</p> <ul> <li>Guide and mentor student leaders within the fraternity and sorority community. </li><li>Encourage cross-council collaboration and foster a sense of unity within the FSL community. </li><li>Train, advise, and support Student Organization student leaders in effective organizational management, the Engage platform, member development, planning, and program coordination. </li><li>Facilitate the Student Organization funding process to support Student Organizations' event planning process and create and maintain accurate fiscal processes. </li><li>Monitors all budgets related to Registered Student Organizations, Councils and Greek Life Budget, marketing supplies, student payroll, and program revenue. </li><li>In conjunction with the Director of Student Activities, provides ancillary supervision, support, and direction to Graduate Assistants, UPC and all club officers. </li><li>Promote student development and student learning through coordinated leadership development opportunities offered through the Office of Student Engagement and individual organization development programs. </li></ul> <p>10% Assessment and Technology</p> <ul> <li>Develop long- and short-term strategic plans that guide Student Organization operations and contribute to the long-term stability of the Office of Student Organizations. </li><li>Evaluate and assess program efficiency through formal program review and other ongoing assessment activities. </li><li>Coordinate management of the Engage student organization engagement platform and manage rollout and implementation strategies through collaboration with Information Management & Technology. </li><li>Administers online program area assessment surveys to gauge participant satisfaction levels, constructive feedback, and learning objective achievements. </li><li>Utilize UNC Handshake in collaboration with the Center of Career Readiness for recruiting and hiring student staff. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ol> <li>Education: </li></ol> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required </li><li>Understanding of event planning and strategic planning </li><li>A minimum 1 year of experience in coordinating and developing Greek Life or Clubs & Organizations, or Student Activities in a college or university setting is required. Undergraduate Leadership and/or Graduate Assistant positions will be considered as required experience. </li></ul> <ol start="2"> <li>Experience: </li></ol> <p>The preferred candidate will have previous student affairs experience of at least 2 years; as well as in Greek Life, planning a variety of events as well as supervising student staff, planning and implementing student focused events, risk management, and facility management. Knowledge in co-curricular program development, student development, marketing, and customer service is preferred. Budget management and administration is preferred. A master's degree in leadership, Higher Education or related field is preferred.</p> <ol start="3"> <li>Certification/Registration/Licensing: </li></ol> <p>N/A</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Ability: </li></ol> <p>The preferred abilities for the Coordinator of FSL include the following:</p> <p>a) Demonstrated experience in program planning, implementation, and evaluation that specifically relates to student clubs and organization management.</p> <p>b) Student employee management skills and ability to apply student development principles.</p> <p>c) Ability to interpret and apply industry research.</p> <p>d) Effective written and verbal communication skills.</p> <p>e) Customer service and policy enforcement skills.</p> <p>f) Ability to apply student development principles.</p> <p>g) Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.</p> <p>h) Ability to work with diverse student populations.</p> <p>i) Knowledge of assessment and research methods.</p> <ol start="5"> <li>Special Considerations: </li></ol> <p>The position is required to work a varied schedule, including several early mornings, late nights, and weekends, especially during recruitment, New Student Days, Homecoming, and Greek Week. The coordinator must be creative, innovative, self-directed and self-motivated, can work independently and collaboratively and must be willing to serve as a representative on campus-wide and departmental committees.</p> <p>Benefits:</p> <p>Benefits available include health, dental, vision, life and long-term disability insurance, as well as a selection of several defined contribution retirement plans for all full-time positions. Full-time employees are eligible to receive tuition waiver benefits, as well as dependents and spouses of UNC Employees who are employed at 0.5 FTE or above are eligible for undergraduate dependent tuition grants of up to 50%.
