<p>At Biohaven, we are committed to improving the lives of patients suffering from central nervous system disorders by advancing first-in-class and best-in-class therapies. With a successful commercial drug developed and both early and late-stage clinical candidates in the development pipeline, the landscape for our preclinical discovery is evolving rapidly. We are excited to expand our discovery team and our pipeline capabilities with new equipment and assays to enable discovery of the next candidates. Joining our team now means the opportunity to be a part of disruptive science and innovation for discovering treatments to some of the most challenging diseases and conditions that patients and their families face today.</p> <p>We are currently seeking a candidate to join our team at our Cambridge, MA lab facility. The position will have responsibilities for leading and contributing to biochemistry efforts for lead optimization on a variety of targets and programs. The candidate will join a dynamic team comprised of an experienced group of drug discovery professionals. The candidate should have a strong interest in working in an enthusiastic environment with aggressive research goals and timelines. This position will work across our three-site model between Cambridge, MA, New Haven, CT & Pittsburgh, PA. Some travel may be required.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Utilize your research experience to independently design and execute experiments, analyze data, and determine next steps </li><li>Lead biochemistry efforts on cross-functional project teams by setting the biochemical approach, timelines and communicating results </li><li>Develop assays to assess parameters such as ligand binding, enzyme activity and compound potency </li><li>Manage relationships with external partners </li><li>Maintain an electronic lab notebook </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Ph.D. or M.S. with 5+ years of industry experience </li><li>Extensive experience developing biochemical or biophysical assays </li><li>Strong problem-solving skills with experience troubleshooting complex assays </li><li>Experience with high throughput assay development is a plus </li><li>Experience in mechanistic enzymology is a plus </li><li>Experience working with membrane proteins is a plus </li></ul>
