<p>Engineering Supervisor</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>You will be responsible for monitoring production processes and ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly. Activities often include hands-on problem-solving, data collection, and working closely with production teams. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing production processes in manufacturing. Your work involves the entire lifecycle of a production process, from the initial start-up phase through to implementation and beyond. The goal is to ensure efficient, cost-effective production lines that can scale up to meet demand and produce high-quality output with minimal waste. You will oversee the start-up, operations, and completion of assigned packaging lines. Supervisors are essential to ensuring a safe, efficient work environment while providing real-time coaching and mentoring to packaging and production staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Ensure safety procedures are followed by adherence to company policies. </li><li>Ensure front-line quality check compliance to meet company quality standards. </li><li>Recommend measures to maintain safe operations, improve production methods, equipment performance, and use of equipment to increase efficiency, quality, and safety of the department or work crew. </li><li>Study production schedule to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, codes, package number, planning sequence of production, and other packaging requirements. </li><li>Compose weekly staffing schedule based on production requirements to ensure efficient operations and minimal overtime. </li><li>Participate in the appropriate selection and usage of resources (materials, systems, utilities, and equipment) required for the effective operations of the packaging department. </li><li>Confer with management, other departments, supervisors, and operators to coordinate activities to assure a safe environment, quality product, and efficient operations. </li><li>Suggest and initiate plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. </li><li>Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. </li><li>Initiate personnel actions, such as performance evaluations and disciplinary measures. </li><li>Facilitate daily debriefs with the packaging staff. </li><li>Check and approve hours worked of hourly employees on the lines. </li><li>Assist in internal auditing, such as GMP, HACCP, and Safety. </li><li>Ensure compliance with Internal, Federal, State, and local guidelines and regulations including GMP, HACCP, OSHA, FDA, and TTB. </li><li>Check the machinery of the lines for operational readiness and proper setup. </li><li>Oversee the operations of the lines during production. </li><li>Direct changeovers to assure proper materials are used, proper amounts are produced, and proper codes are used per the BOM. </li><li>Frequently review the operator quality assurance checks throughout the shift. </li><li>At shutdown, be present to assure the proper length of run and that all machinery, conveyors, air, CO2, water, and chain lube are shut off. </li><li>Take case counts and record. </li><li>Make out work orders for repairs or improvements needed on the lines. </li><li>Supervise training of employees in operations, safety, quality standards, GMP's, and HACCP procedures. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Degree in Engineering - Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Engineering Technology preferred; others are considered. </li><li>0 to 1 year of experience, internship preferred in a manufacturing environment. </li><li>Strategic thinking. </li><li>Mechanical aptitude. </li><li>People skills - ability to lead and hold people accountable. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience in Lean manufacturing. </li><li>Continuous improvement mindset. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>The work environment is a beverage manufacturing environment. The role includes working with various technologies and equipment in a production setting. Supervisors are expected to adhere to safety standards and dress codes appropriate to a manufacturing environment. The position offers 10 days of billable holiday and 80 hours of billable vacation.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $38.00/hr.</p> <p>Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
