<p>Job Description:</p> <p>Regional School District 8 is accepting applications for a Director of Technology and Communication. This position is a part of the district leadership team and is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategic vision and plan for all aspects of technology and communication integration and maintenance in the district. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Identify and implement technologies to enhance instructional program </li><li>Support and enhance technology use across the district, including district issued student technology (1:1 Chromebooks) and technology used by staff </li><li>Oversee and continuously enhance the district's cybersecurity posture, ensuring protection of sensitive data and compliance with applicable regulations and best practices </li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws and policies and procedures related to technology </li><li>Manage district network system and infrastructure to ensure continuity of district technology </li><li>Collaborate with business office to develop budget for technology department and assist other departments with budget development related to technology </li><li>Supervise and support members of technology staff </li><li>Ensure communication systems used by the district are current and reliable </li><li>Support management of student information system (Powerschool) </li><li>Diagnose problems related to technology use across the district and facilitate solutions </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required, with degree or advanced coursework in technology related field preferred </li><li>Previous experience in a school district preferred </li><li>Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills </li><li>Knowledge of technology related to secondary instruction </li><li>Proficient with high range of technology (Google and Microsoft suites, Powerschool, School ERP Pro) </li><li>Experiences supervising staff preferred </li><li>Ability to manage a network operating system </li><li>Ability to maintain confidential information </li><li>Self-motivated and able to work and solve problems independently </li></ul> <p>Salary range is between $105,000 - $120,000 (commensurate with experience). A comprehensive benefits package will also be provided.</p> <p>Regional School District 8 (RHAM) is a high-performing, regionalized secondary school district serving approximately 1,200 students in grades seven through twelve residing in the towns of Hebron, Andover, and Marlborough. The district consists of one middle school and one high school located on a shared campus in Hebron, CT.
