<p>Position Information</p> <p>Posting Number NC00830 Position Title Assistant Athletic Trainer Division President's Office Division Department Name Athletics and Recreation Position Type Staff - Non Classified Position Overview</p> <p>May 2026 graduates are encouraged to apply and will be fully considered for this opportunity.</p> <p>The Assistant Athletic Trainer assists in all aspects of sports medicine services for the College's intercollegiate athletic programs. The position supports the delivery, coordination, and management of athletic training services, including injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and referral for student-athletes. The role also assists with the operation of athletic training facilities, coordination of medical services and clearances, supervision of student trainer staff, and the overall administration of sports medicine programs.</p> <p>Primary Purpose</p> <p>Assist in all aspects of sports medicine for all 22 intercollegiate athletic programs and in the delivery of professional sports medicine services to student-athletes. Assist in the management, delivery and coordination of all aspects of athletic training services.</p> <p>Essential Duties</p> <ul> <li>Assist in the assessment, first-aid, treatment, referral, and rehabilitation for athletic injuries as part of intercollegiate athletic program. </li><li>Assist in the organizational management, education and coordination of the athletic training facilities and equipment to ensure cleanliness, proper use, policy implementation, etc. </li><li>Act as a secondary liaison with institutional health services as well as all medical support personnel (i.e., orthopedic consultants, EMT, etc). </li><li>Assist in the coordination of student-athlete medical exams, clearance, insurance coverage, and claims procedures. </li><li>Assist in the identification, training, supervision and evaluation of student trainer staff. </li><li>Assist in the recommendation, coordination, development, and maintenance of a policies and procedures manual for the athletic medicine area. </li><li>Assist the assistant director and head athletic trainer in the inventory and purchase of medical supplies. </li><li>Assist in the student-athlete support program as it relates to student-athlete health issues. </li><li>Assist in fundraising initiatives including camps. </li></ul> <p>Occasional Duties</p> <p>Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer and Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Club Sports.</p> <p>Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities</p> <ul> <li>Ability to obtain State of Rhode Island Athletic Trainer (AT) license required within two months of being selected. </li><li>CPR, Standard First Aid and AED certification, instructor certification a plus. </li><li>Computer knowledge required. </li><li>Background in medical software similar to Medicat. </li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Valid driver's license. </li><li>Knowledge of NCAA policies and procedures related to athletic training. </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Education: Master's Degree in Athletic Training, or Physical Therapy with certification by NATABOC or Bachelor's Degree in Athletic Training provided the candidate meets all NATABOC certification credentials. </li><li>Experience: Proven experience in athletic training gained through roles such as student athletic trainer, internship, graduate assistantship, or professional practice. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications Does this position have Direct Reports?
